Default My brother is gonna do a 5,500rpm clutch dump

Ok, my brother keeps talking to me about getting slicks or drag radials. He has full bolt ons with a stock clutch and stock 10 bolt rear end. He says he wants to get like 315 slicks for next time we go to the track and do a 5,500 clutch dump and rip off the line.

There is no way that his stock clutch or his 10 bolt are gonna survive that. I keep talling him but he says he doesn't understand why he has to get a 9" and can't do it with the stock rear. I also think when he dumps it the clutch will probably just slip and burn and then his rear will go BOOM.

Am I just really paranoid?

Sucks cause the track is like 2 hours from where we live, if something breaks it sucks pretty bad.

Bring a truck and trailer, bet him if he breaks he pays for the cost of renting the trailer.

+1 on the video. I'd love to reference this thread to those who claim that a 10 bolt will support 800 hp, or that their fbody does wheel stands with the stock rear end. I hear that one a lot.

10 bolt -> <- M6 LS1 w/ drag radials or slicks.

Just tell him to slip the clutch, truthfully, unless you want an easy win

???? Half the regulars in the drag racing section have done that. I carried them 7" for about 30' with a 10 bolt. 1.44 60ft.

To the OP cant say much more then what everyone else has already said.

If the clutch holds, then say bye-bye to the rear.

Kinda like bigfoot, there are some people who claim to have seen it, but the other 98% of the population say no way.
