Default how does mph/rwhp work?

i know theres a direct correlation between trap mph and rwhp, but idk what it is... i read on a different thread 1mph= 10rwhp and a quick search on dragtimes showed me 111mph= 347rwhp

now my car trapped 110 on a very hot day, but my dynotune only shows 325rwhp...

I wouldn't put to much thought into this as a dyno is a tool for getting a car at its proper tune. A/F, timing, etc.

But.. my car put down 305 hp and trapped 109mph with 2.73 gears. A basic rule of thumb is that 10hp is equel to 1mph and .1 off the ET. Most car with a 100 shot gain about 10 mph and drop one second from the 1/4 when your in the 11.5 to 13.5 range.

If you have a 100 shot on a old farm truck that runs 19.0 its prolly going to gain 3 seconds and 20 mph...LOL. And again a car running 9.5 in the 1/4 may only get down to a 9.1 or so with the 100 shot.

Also don't forget about weight. If you have the same hp as the car next to you , but he has subs, amp, and a beer gut, your going to trap higher and have a better et then he would.

Its just a dyno number. 110 is good. My buddy had a bolt on 6 speed that put down 334 and he would always trap 110. If you wanted you could make the dyno "read" 825 hp.

.

There is no linear formula, it's a total package kind of thing as mentioned.
Weight, gear, tire, torque, power band ect ect.

It takes a lot less HP to gain 1 mph in a stock vehicle going 110 mph,
then my car trying to go another 1 mph.
There is just no way to say plug this number in and get an answer.
