WTF Did Tire shop use grease to mount Drag Radials???
So I take my wheels and tires to a place I've gone to for years. They sell tons of wheels and are always busy. Today I bring in my two MT Drag radials and ZR1 wheels and they say no problem touching up some bead corrosion on the rim and mounting the tires. So they put them in the car and when I take them out I see this white crap all around the bead area. I'm taking them back tomorrow to ask WTF!
The white crap is not totally like Lithium Grease, more grittier, but feels slick nonetheless. This crap better not penetrate into the bead and result in a constantly slipping tire on the rim. Any thoughts/recommendations on this? Am I FUC#&ed?

I forget what its called its been 5 years since ive done tires....but its a goopy lube yours just looks frothed up. It would get like that when the container got low and putting the applicator in and out of the narow neck would make it foamy. Anyways it will most likely be fine and I think you would had to have rim spinning issues prior to this to worry about that now.

I thought that was normal. I had the same thing on my last 2 sets of tires I got mounted. I was kind of pissed that they somehow took a chunk of the "rim protector" lip out of the tire with the mounting thing though.

its just the lube they use to get the tire on the rims you shouldnt have any problems. did you say the cleaned the bead from corrosion if so im suprised you dont have black bead sealer leakin out from the bead.

As stated it is a mounting paste. So many shops have guys who don't care or take pride in there work. I have worked for two companies and 5 or 6 shops(4 or 5 locations for the same company) and most people I worked next to didn't give much of a care. Many don't wash the blue off of white letters, take the stickers off, or clean the extra lube off the wheel and bead of the tire. It is just the **** pore attitude of not taking pride in your work.
Good news is like many have said, you will be just fine after you wash off your wheels.

its funny this topic was started because surprisingly enough i had one of my et dr's slipping on a rim after having them mounted. how did i know? the car felt strange during the launch so i marked the tires/wheels with window chalk. the one tire moved about inchess. i took it off, aired it down, broke the bead then ruffed it up with some 100 grit then coated it with patch adhesive. not one problem since!
and it happened when i was running mid 12s.... just because it only has 330-350 rwhp doesnt mean its not enough power to make it spin on the rim.
