Personally I have a 2800 and I hold it at 1000 or so, then stand on the gas when it is time. Works well but haven't tried anything else. I was told this was the best way in a thread. Brake stall fairly low and let the converter flash to it's rpm. If you use this method I would say hold it around 1500 then give it hell when it is go time.

seems to be different from converter to converter from what i've seen. I've tried off idle, raising rpms a few hundred to load the car, and foot braking as high as i can and the brakes can still hold the car back. My car always did much better when i was *** off the seat trying to hold the car back. Not sure what the rpms are when i do that cause its a chore trying to rev as high as you can and not push through the beams. But thats just what works best for me.

I need help too. I foot brake to 2k RPM then mash the pedal while taking the brake off and all i do is spin out so bad and i have NT05's, they aren't that great but man they are better than straight up radials.

For me it worked best at 1000 RPM's. I tried from idle to 2000 rpm's and 1000 to 2000 rpm's was almost the same but I shaved a tenth off my 60' compared to idleWhen I launched at 1000 rpm's.
My 60' was 1.69 and I think I can do better.

you just got to try an see what your car likes really..just take a day or a couple tnt's an work on your 60s an see what your car likes an wants....you will also learn what you can do to not maybe blow the tires off on the hit on a grease track..remember the longest time traveled on the track is your 60 an 330..you get you car working there the best it can and your times will drop.

Do you floor the gas or hit it to about 80% then 100% say after a second once you know you have traction? Or is that not necessary? My car has the traction control thing, I've been practicing without it, should I have this one to help out?

I usually stall it up to right below where the tires start to loose traction, barely let off, go 75 percent throttle when the third light starts to fade out then WOT. Only LCAs and PHB on the rear, worn out cooper cobra street tires.
Reaction time is usually 1/2 a second, need to start leaving earlier but for my mods, thing hooks like a bastard.

1.35 60ft here...brake stall it as high as it will go before pushing through the front tires...
it i just stab and go the 60ft will be slightly worse
and that is on drag radials

.
A lot depends on the car.
My best luck has always been launch high enough so the engine doesn't hesitate,
but still have enough flash to drive the slicks into the track so they hold.
If you launch too high, you load up the chassis, and you don't get enough bite.
If you launch too low, and the engine doesn't like it.
Testing is always the key. Hell even the same track from Sat to Sun might want something different.
The sweet spot can change due to weather, traction, tire life ect.
