Default ET street or ET drag?

Trying to get a grasp on the difference of these, I would love to be able to drive on the street (legally) but if the ET drags are that much better then it would be worth it to go with those.. another variable is I know I want a stiff sidewall version and I'm not sure that the ET street comes in stiff does it?

This is for my M6.. will most likely be running on 4.30's and a 28

The et street radial will be fine. Have a lot of guys that run em down here in all sizes and on all different cars. Hook very well from what i've seen and last a reasonably long time

with a stock the radials are a little more difficult to be consistent compared to a auto.

stiff wall 28 will be head over hills better then a 28 et street. I have a friends car I mess with and we couldnt do anything with the et street, put the drags on and leave off the limiter and it bogs so now that the tire is there we can start to adjust the leave and tire pressure and get it to sixty foot.

Hoosier QTP Bias ply tire comes with stiff wall, Radial wont hook great with a 4.30 gear or at all. But i would go with the ET drags if your set on a M/T tire. You want the 60fts get the drag/QTP you want more streetabilty go with a radial.

So does the ET street not come in a stiff version?

I'm not necessarilly set on a M/T, but they seem to be the most common.. looking at 28x10.5x15 ET drag or 28x11.5/12.5x16 ET street...

is that like the ET streets were the tread width is actually smaller or is it a true 11.5? I would be worried about them not fitting if they are a true 11.5......

I had great luck with the ET STREET when I was a 6 speed, Now the et street RADIAL is pointless on a 6 speed, some people get them to work..but theyve got alot invested in suspension. Depending on your horsepower, with that gear a 28 would be nice. I have ET DRAGs now buuuuut i have a TH400 so cant really give you a good experience with that anymore.

When I had the 6 speed still, I had a lot of luck with the 28x12.50-15 M/T ET Street.

ET streets are very good tires especially if you plan on driving the car and work very well at the track....

The reason for that is all DOT tires (including ET Street) are measured at the section width, where drag tires (ET Drag) are measured at the tread width.

That is how a 28x11.5 ET Street is pretty much the same size as a 28x10.5 ET Drag.

I would go ET drags.

I am an a4 and ET streets dont hook all the time. I am on stock suspension but only running 1190s. I am willing to bet the ET drags will be more consistant over the ET streets.

Guys are running fast as hell on et streets. I wouldn't get the et drags because they are overkill in my opinon, and being they are a full drag tire you need a bigger burnout and they won't last as long.

ET Streets..Radials are pointless for a 6 speed. I have 325/50s and I cant get it to 60ft for ****. I did the radials because I wanted to drive it, well thats out the window. ET Streets (bias plys) are goin on in a week or so...Radials cant take the shock and once they start to spin, its very hard for them to recover themselves..Get the ET Street and call it a day!

IMO The ET Drag is overkill like above. Car starts bogging and then your really going backwards I think..A little tire spin is better than a bog Iv always thought..Iv seen some crazy times like 1.39s 1.4s with the ET Streets..

A ET street bias ply will give a little more than a radial in the sidewall with a six speed. As mentioned, a manual trans car can be harder to hook on a radial than an auto, and that is why a slick might be a better choice. My Nova hooks fine on a 275/60/15 radial when footbraking, but the et drags go on when I use the transbrake as they will provide a consistent launch.
