I'm not sure how much for a 4 or 6 point, but the shop that tunes my car quoted me for $2,700 for an 8pt mild steel cage, painted, and for all the labor. The cage isn't that expensive at all, its the labor that adds up. If you can take all your interior out yourself that will save a lot of money.

oh woww lol i just seen a guy that had a cage put in for 500. i think it was an 8 or a 10. he took all the interior and stuff out himself. i dont know how good of craftmanship there was on it but it looked good to me. i just didnt know if thats the norm.

The more I think about it, I was quoted on a 10pt. But yeah by him taking out all that interior his self saved him a lot of money. That shop was the only shop I talked to about it though so I'm not to sure if that was a super high price or not.

labor is what kills you, its 75% of the total. stenod will be doing my cage this week 1400 for a chromemoly 6 point. ya im sure i can find it cheaper somewhere else but i want a qaulity cage over saving a few bucks.

Yeah the carpet looks like a real pain. Does the dash have to come out to install a cage? I always thought it was just the carpet, interior, and panels.

for a 6point you dont have to remove dash, 10point dash has to be removed

i got one of the SOS 10pt kits local, i've been getting quotes in the 600-800 range to install. That's with me tearing out the interior, and them making plates for it, and the 800 price included the window net. I'll only have 1500 in this cage once its said and done, and that's 4130 too.

Eric at MWC quoted me 1300 for a 8pt CM bar DS swing out, with the interior already removed. I know another guy that got his 8pt done for 800 including them removing the interior. I got a Wolfe 6pt bolt in for now for 600 and installed it myself. Interior is easy to take outand the bar was also easy to put in.

As mentioned, materials is a fraction compared to the labor (although chromemoly is more expensive then mild steel, but is lighter). I've paid about $1400 total for a local shop to do my 8-point mild steel cage (done as a 5-point bar with driver swing out first back in 2003, then upgraded to a full cage in 2007). Everything was custom bent the way I wanted it, so that adds a little, but I took the car to him with the interior out and painted it myself.

Premier Autosports in Memphis TN quoted me 1400 for a 6 point and 400 a door for swing outs. He said it would be the tightest fitting roll cage I have ever seen. We will see.

Paid $500 to have my Wolfe 6-pt welded in. Being modified into a custom SFI certified 10-pt cage as we speak, will report back when that's done.
