Default SFI 25.3 rollcage (6.50 cert), Overbeek Rear Prostock Wing and Dual chutes finished

This is a 25.5 to 25.3 upgrade I've been working on for a while now...ended up adding or replacing something like 25 bars

Added the last of the gussets yesterday and started painting it today. Got the first coat done in the driver area, need to put a coat on in the rear area, then do a 2nd coat. Using Rustoleum HAMMERED paint...stuff is pretty bada$$

Going to try to cert it in a few weeks...once certed, I'll get all the floor pans fully welded in...

Driver side

Driver side roof

Passenger side

Passenger side roof

windshield gussets

Rear bars (still need to paint this area)

Undercar bars (picture taken during construction

Also finished the Joe Van Overbeek Rear Wing setup and dual parachute mount...

For the same reasons you just mentioned I just ordered the 25.3 book today (after already buying the 25.4 book) since its being built right now to give it a little added value and to save a ton of time and money down the road if I ever need that spec. It's always better to have a little more than not enough.

Looks good BTW!!

Looks great. I have a dumb question though, I thought 25.3 required rear frame rails all the way to the back. I'm going by memory, I don't have the book in front of me, I could be wrong.

There is a unibody variation listed in the spec... Says two 1 5/8" bars of any length on 6x6 plates.

Good. I'm planning on doing the same thing to mine (25.5 to 25.3). I don't really want to add any more than I have to. If you remove the stock floors & replace with sheet metal, does that "delete" the uni-body rule?

yes...that variation assumed stock floors remained.

I need to verify availability, but I plan on taking the car for cage certification wednesday night.

Also, a few weeks ago I dropped off my pontiac emblem wing strut supports (that go on the bumper) to a local shop that is doing a brand new spray "chrome" process (its actually silver-based). They got the chrome part done. The next step is to leave the border and the tabs chrome and do the rest of it in a translucent red. Should look "close" to an actual pontiac emblem when finished

here is one of them after the "chrome" step

they should look similar to this when done
