whats needed??
ok so 1, can a stock displacement size engine go high 6's, low 7's thru the 1/8 and still be streetable?
2, what is needed for this to happen, really what i'm looking for really is should i spend more money in the engine or should i concentrate on the rear end/ suspension stuff?

high 6s low 7s is like mid to low 11s in the quarter...head and cam cars on sticky tires have the power to do it....id suggest some slicks and maybe some race shocks, weight reduction and maybe a shot of giggle gas...

just out of curiosity what do u run in the 1/8th now??
here are some of mine for comparison...
1) 7.76 @ 88.21 = 12.21 @ 107.85
2) 7.68 @ 88.87 = 12.11 @ 110.54
a low 7 should be in the mid 11 second area....

HA you don't wanna know what i run...its actually embarrassing.. right now best time is a 12.637 @ 114 and a 1/8 of 8.288 @ 89 but thats with a 2.096 60' time the big thing for me i have no traction because i am still using the f1 tires..

those are not embarrasing times at all given the 60 foot....
on some sticky tires, you could probably get down to a 1.6-1.7....this should put you around 12.0-12.20 in the quarter and 7.5 - 7.7 in the 1/8th. from there try bolting on a torque arm and race shocks. that has the ability to knock the 60 foot down even more...couple this with a little more practice banging gears and youll be able to rip off 11s with no problem...this should put you in the low 7s. good luck man!

well future plans call for ford 9" w/ spool and mostly susp. stuff. i think the motor is capable of 11's i just need to get my 60' time down and then we can go from there.. but first the f1's have GOT to go..besides they're almost bald anyway.. and not even hardly 20k on them.
