Need some help with diagnosing my 60ft problem
Just need to kick around some ideas....Basically the car will not 60ft for anything. As of now my best pass was a 7.5x@93mph with a 1.79 60ft off the foot brake. Ive tried everything...flashing the converter, stalling it till it wanted to push, left on the trans brake, and TB with 2 step. Nothing helped, 1.79 is the best with a dead hook every single time. The motor seemed to bog down on launch..so id suspect stall speed. anyway heres the details.
02 SS
Bolt ons & cam
built th400(lighterweight internals)
3500 converter(nitrous conveter)
9"with 4.11s
Full rear suspension(LCAs,short tq arm, panhard, drag bar, comp 3 ways)
28in ET Drag
id imagine 3400-3500lb weight...
Now I know it being a nitrous converter it wont be rippin amazing 60fts..but a 1.8 is freakin sad.
Here is my ideas:
1.restall or change out the converters completely..id rather hit this one with nitrous first..but 3500 just dosnt seem like enough for a cam only car.
2. possible tuning issue...fueling or timing issue, the car hasnt been retuned since the trans swap.
3. Go down to a 26in Drag radial..quickest fix.
Any other ideas? I was guessing it would 60ft around 1.65 or a tad quicker on motor.

When you say push to the left, is the car driving left? If so, I'd check, not in this order:
Tire rollout
Suspension, is it rolling over?
Is the rear square to the chassis?
Anti roll bar with too much preload?
As for actual leave, I'd guess the 28 inch tire/gear isn't enough, caonverter's too tight. Putting the car on a dyno just to verify there's no power issue isn't a bad idea.

Get some weight out if it and up the stall. A N/A setup with a Nitrous converter is too tight BUT when you put the bottle to it, it will be just right. These cars N/A on a heavy chassis needs as much RPM as you can give it or as much power that you can throw at it.

thanks guys, I had my dad video tape everything, but I havnt looked at it yet...too damn disgusted with it at the time. The car is "leaving" as straight as an arrow. just slow as hell. I was talking to a friend that did an auto swap in his SRT4 and his said he had the same issue after the swap. His car was going super rich while loading the converter, thats the first place were going to look when my tuner has time to come check it out..distance is a problem here
