Default Setting 3 way rear shocks for strip only

Hey all, I have rear Summit shocks and there set at 50/50. Car rarely see`s street miles anymore and thinking of going to 60/40. Looking to gain some more in the 60', currently averaging 1.65-1.75 Will the 60/40 setting help me or hurt me in a 6 speed car?

Any input would be great.

whats your rear end and what are you runnig at the front i have heard that if the car is setup right you should set the rears differnt to compensate for the twist of the car and the fronts should be 90/10's

I have strange double adjustable shocks in front with comp engineering 3 ways in the back. Although my car is a stalled auto I set mine to 60/40. I have not had a clean pass with them though because the track prep was horrible last time I went. What shocks are you running up front? I know a lot of people set them to 50/50, and that is an ideal setting for perfect track conditions. But my local track is hardly ever perfect, and I'm on a drag radial that needs pressure kept on them. So with that, and you being a six speed car I would set them to 60/40 and see how they do.

A 6sp car is going to over-power your current shocks so the other settings aren't going to matter very much. I spent most of last summer trying to dial in my Comp Engineering 3-ways on my 6sp car with zero luck.... If you want to start hooking you'll need to invest in some good double adjustable rear shocks to control the rear axle movement. A good shock will keep the tires planted instead of bouncing and unloading on the hit.

If you haven't read this already, here is a good read about drag shocks.

How much power are you making and what kind of rear tires do you run?

I guess more info would be better. Car is a bolt on 6Speed running high 11`s. Never been on a dyno so no clue on numbers

Im running Strange singles upfront set at 3 (was unloading on the hit at 0 and 1) on a 275lb spring.
Summit rear shocks set at 50/50
MWC fab 9" with 4.11 spooled
Spohn drag bar
subframes
Lcas`s at 2nd hole from bottom
26x11.5x15 Hoosier QTP

Car usually ran 1.68-1.75 on 26x11.5x15 Mickey ET street bias ply. I went to a Hoosier QTP and has gone 1.59 60' averaging 1.65-172 so a little better there. Just looking for a little more out of her.

Our track prep is not the best nor the worst, I have been coming out around 4k dumping and maybe a revolution or two of spin, not bad.

Update, ultimate shootout this weekend and car HATED 60/40 setting. Fought it all day so I dropped air pressure in rear and bumped the front to 4. Last pass treed my opponent,, out 60' him with a 1.68 and ended up missing 3rd gear BAH!!!!. almost came back around him but not enough track left. I ran 12.35 to his 12.15. Cant win them all but I sure gave her hell.

Car is going back to 50/50 and gonna get some better shocks soon

i have always had the most success with the stiffest setting possible in the rear shocks with my CE 3 ways. footbrake or transbrake.
