Default Drag Radials and 6 speeds

How can I get my 275/60/15 drag radials to hook? Any tips? Next year will be a bias ply tire but for the rest of this year I am using the radial. 4:56 gears. Spool. Cam only.

Your going to have to list what suspension mods you have done, and what settings. IF you have no suspension, then to be honest, nothing short of slipping the clutch to death would probably help.

The only DRs Ive seen work well on a banger car is the Hoosiers. I had MTs and switched to QTPs and the car dropped 2 tenths in the 60ft first pass.

QTP is a bias ply tire and worked pretty good for me too, but no wear like a slick.
A stick needs to have some slip, the clutch or the tire.
Normally the tire will spin on the launch and then hook.
DR will not hook after they spin.
Bias ply tires like slicks will recover and that is why almost all stick car run them.

Non adjustable bmr lcas
adjustable panhard bar
adjustable torque arm
subframe connectors
stock sway bar, shocks, and springs. I have stranos but I'm putting the stock rears back in when going to the track.

1.76 60' Last time i had them at 20+psi. I didn't have a tire gauge and didn't want to let out a lot so I left them alone. I'm going to start them out at 17 psi and adjust it from there.

It's probably just not going to happen. Drag radials and stick shifts just don't usually mix. The sidewalls of a radial tire are too stiff for the initial shock of a stick shift launch.

You're fighting a losing battle. I know TOO many people that have tried this, and the ONLY ones that got it to work spent the 2500 or whatever it was for a mcloud softloc clutch, and that thing doesn't last AT ALL on the street.

You want it to hook, put a slick, or at least a bias ply tire on it. Make sure you have the right rear shocks on it (madman) and you're good.

Ryan there is a air pump at the track over by the fuel tanks. You can let as much air out as u want then fill um back up to drive home.

I have run Radials and Bias Plys on my car..I had a 325/50/15 Hoosier and switched to a 28x13.5 ET Street. With the Hoosiers I went a 1.72 60ft side stepping with the 2 step at 6000 Im pretty sure. Stock shocks up front, no rear sway bar and strange rear shocks set on 5 or 6. Not bad for a car I drive a lot and weights 3600..I knew it had more in it but needed more parts. So I got a Drag Bar, Front Shocks and wanted to go try again..well a gift from my dad, he got me the ET Streets. I hated them. The car 60fts awesome but I dont like how it drives. 1.62 best so far but I lost MPH and ET really didnt drop that much. I cant keep the car from bogging. I know with more seat time and leaving higher I could proably make it work but I just hate how they drive. Its almost scary at times. I dont drive like a tard but on uneven roads it gets washy. So..........I put the radials back on and lookin forward for LSX Shootout!! Thinking about driving it there..havent made up my mind..I think with enought seat time and suspension tuning Ill see a 1.6X 60ft and Id be happy with that.. Im willing to take the time to make it work...

Whats thoughts on MTs Radials Vs Hoosiers? I like the more tread of the MTs but never had them in a 15 and wanting to try them..All the radial cars at the track run the Mickeys and they are a lot freakin faster than my junk..might not be 6 speeds but I bet coming off a trans break at 5000+ hits the tires just as hard...
