To a certain extent, the right launch really varies a fair bit from car to car. It's going to depend on your suspension setup, what tire you run, what rear gear, power, etc. There's different techniques for different setups, so ya gotta be a little less vague.

I run on the stock clutch & rebuilt 10 bolt w/ 3.73s and have cut a 1.90 60ft on 245 street tires. I leave at 4k with a very quick slip and I didn't spin at all. A 4500 complete dump got my sideways at the track. Slipping is the key, IMO. But tires, rear, suspension, etc. do come into play at musicman said. We need more info.

THIS! ----> https://ls1tech.com/forums/eastern-m...ay-new-pb.html

I will say that I will be posting a UPDATE this fall. I got ALL my parts and will be looking for a rental day at ATCO with a -1000 DA day. JL and I will be doing some shake down passes. And really see if I can get Single Adj Shocks to work for the rear.

Best Ive got is a 1.68 60ft but it barely pulled a tire. 2step set at 4500 dumped the clutch on hoosier 27x10.5 QTPs at 16psi. Since then I changed out the suspension for better parts and have only got into the 1.7s a few times. need to dial that in still.

I've been dumping the clutch off a 2-step at 6300-6500 and the best 60' I cut was a 1.53. Then on my last pass of my most recent track outing I took the advice of a fellow board member and cut a 1.51. His advice was to let my clutch out till I could feel the car load the suspension then wait for the lights to drop and raise the rpms to activate the 2-step and release the clutch on the green light. This way your preloading the suspension and still coming out at WOT off the 2-step. I still need a little practice but the car should be in the 1.4s soon.

No you let the clutch out just enough so the car doesn't move.

6500-7000 rpm of the 2 step quickly raising leg / releasing the clutch - not side stepping

amen to keeping your *****/man pedal. it depends on the suspension/tire/rwhp/etc. if your having trouble with wheelspin, maybe you should try slipping your clutch. if your bogging, try raising the rpm and dumping the clutch. you just have to spend a lot of seat time learning how your car launches best.

everyone says slick this,slick that side stepping... i dont understand side stepping a car on slicks and only cutting 1.5-1.6s

ive always done a fast slip from 5-5500rpm on DRs and cut high 1.4s low 1.5s
