It don't make a difference if someone runs a car in Antarctica, times are times, period.

Are you implying that a dyno sheet is more impressive than an ACTUAL 1/4 mile pass?
Man I sure hope real track racers haven't been reduced to that.

Brent races his car in all sorts of weather, he was still going to the track on the days that those times were run REGARDLESS of what the DA was, he just happened to get lucky on the air quality. Should he have just turned right around and gone home because the air was good? Come back on a +DA day? Would you (or ANYONE looking to improve their track times) have done that?
Here's a thought...let's put the dyno queen and cold temp/-DA 'digs' away for now and line these cars up on the same track, same day in the same air and see who's faster.

btw brent ran 11.2 at bowling green and then went up north and ran 10 all day long. im not saying times arent times i am just saying people talk crap about running awesome times in that weather but then come down south and run what everyone else is running.

Weather and track do play a HUGE difference. Can be up to 0.5-0.7 of a second comparing -2000 to +2000 or more.

I'd like to see some 10.5-10.7 ETs in the 1500-2500 DAs we get here

Oh, I figured there was some weight reduction mods. That makes it all that much more impressive.

Brent obviously would not have hit 10.5s in +2000 DA (back then at 480rwhp), but it's likely he'd have still been in the 10s....now of course things are different.

Jeez, a 490 rwhp H/C car challenging a 420 rwhp cam only car. Very impressive.

It does when someone claims to be the "fastest", "quickest", "best"...... while comparing numbers from a track in "Antarctica" to a track in the "real world", IMO. DAs have to be taken into effect in the same way that weight does, yet it is often "overlooked" when mentioning new bests.

Not bashing, I'll be the first to give props when some numbers are duplicated outside of the mineshaft that some cars usually race in. I just hope, for their sake, they run 10.50s or better. Alot of boasting and claims need to be backed up, otherwise they will continue to remain "DA chasers" to many. Just my opinion, you know what they say about opinions...

At the EFA shoot out Pete's car was 3 mph faster than me, Moose, Fireball, and every other H/C car there. Granted we don't have the fastest H/C cars, but we don't have the slowest either. LG's cars were not represented at that event. The "DA chasing" statement will be put to rest when they race on the same track, same day. I'm sure the Cartek cars will be very competitive against the others when that happens.

They also have 30-50rwhp on "most" H/C cars. As far as the "DA chasing" statement, thats what I mean. It will either be forgotten forever when they signifigantly outrun the field, or it will be an opinion that remains in many peoples minds if they run "average" or "with the pack", IMO.

Chris u live in Canada?
Your telling me Canada has 1500 DA's all yr round,Thats BS....
Chris I think you should open an atlas and look at where u live,Its not Hawaii

Brent always gives DA's..
He has a TAG WS which give REAL TIME DA.....

Last time I check Brent ran 11.1/11.2 in FL against ALL the other competitors.
Wanna guess who won,Wanna guess who was the fastest

Jealousy is a terrible thing guys...
Let it go...

why yes we do . Thats why me and many others went with cartek. And that is why we runs the numbers. I'm not saying I have the best or fastest car. But I am proud what cartek did for me.

His car is lighter than all of ours for sure. My car weighs 3520+ or - with me in it. Fireballs car is a bit on the heavy side like mine, but I'm not sure what his raceweight was for that event. I know he's been working on weight reduction, but not sure what he had done then. Moose's car is probably around 3400. Moose and Fireball will hopefully chime in and correct me if I'm wrong. I believe Pete's car was about 3250 for the EFA event.

Spanky, it's like beating a dead horse with you and the DA. No one replied to my comment about Greg Andersons Pro Stock record shattering runs at E-Town back in May 2003. No one dis-credited him becasue the DA was so good. Listen, no one is stopping anyone from going to where the weather is good, to run their cars. If no one chooses to make a trip to where the DA's are good, than more power to those who race in the great DA's. Until then, Cartek has the fastest heads/cam pacakge, period.
