Default Nawzz, 6 speeds and 4:56s???

Im thinking of doing a 125 or 150 hit on my Hawk. Lookin to get a little faster. Any thoughts suggestions with my current setup of MS4 Cam, 6 speed and 4:56s?? Worried that the 4:56s might be too much gear even with a 28in tire.

Buy a good kit with the window switch and all the safety stuff, and rev it to 72 to 7300 rpm you mite make it.

It will not make it with a 4.56. I had a 28" tire and 4.10 and was running out of gear. On a 150 shot.

4.10 gear with 28" tire. That will get to you to around 140mph at 7000 rpm.

I did a 150HP shot with 4.56's and 28x10.5's. The best I could get was 10.007@137.29 1.32 60' but I had to spin it to 7500 rpm and was out of the powerband and 1-3 are so short they are not doing much. Switched to a 3.89 gear and went 9.78.

Depends on your tire. If you are running a 28" I would use a 3.90-4.10 gear. If you use a 26" I would be more like 3.73. With the torque you are going to hit with spray, especially for roll racing, you need to back the gear down.

not sure what gear you have now but 4.33 gears should work fine. 4.56 gears will have to be reved to about 7500-7550 to make it with out over reving

i had to step it back to 3.73 as i was going through at 7300 and way out of my powerband w a 4.10. but its going to depend a lot on raceweight, how well you can drive, suspension set up, how much power the car makes etc etc.
