Default BMR xtreme TA or Burkhart TA ??

I have a 6 speed car with 4.56 gears , NA car (H/C/I) , i am about to upgrade my torque arm setup and ive narrowed it down to these two, i know the BMR xtreme is a well proven setup and i like the fact that i would have the option of switching back to a catback if i ever have to, but i love the Burkhart setup, i have talked to some people and they seem to be having good luck with it, its a nice looking piece for sure. Help me decide fellas, some pro and cons of both, which one may work better for a 6 speed car ?

The bmr extreme's crossbrace hangs pretty low if you follow the instructions on how to mount it, I'm at stock ride height and it got pushed up after I nudged a hidden stump across from my friends house, not to mention not all speedbumps are your friend. Your going to need some kind of sfc to make it work, but you can mount it higher up if you weld the crossbrace to the sfc itself instead of using the drop down tabs.

The bmr piece is a solid unit that's been proven over and over again, I personaly have the bmr extreme on my dd, but will be switching to a Madman unit for more adjustability, better design, and of cours his awesome suspension tuning support.

Just wanted to throw another option in here for you. Our torque arm is a 4130 steel piece and we only use the highest end parts and material to make our products. It is a chassis mount torque arm, so you would need to have sub-frame connectors. Other than that, when you buy our torque arm, you'll get our suspension tuning and advise afterwords. Here's a link to our torque arm in our online catalog:

http://www.madmanandcoracing.com/sho....aspx?itemid=4

If you have any questions for us, or would like to place your order, please call me at 225-673-3533. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Steve

Oh yeah, we answer the phone and assist with setup too.

i have a BMR Xtreme TA on my car...it's sweet, but does hang low. if i could do it all over again, i'd go madman...my buddy just put on on his TA. the car doesn't run yet, but it's a sweet piece for sure. I've heard nothing but good stuff about Burkart as well.

My car is a T56 as well...you're either going to run open headers with the BMR, or have a Y-setup like mine. i can't speak for the other mentioned torque arms, but i know my BMR takes up a lot of real estate. i might re-do it and delete the mount tabs on the cross brace and weld it directly to the SFC's...here's a couple pics so you can see what i'm talking about:

this is the only exhaust that can fit with my setup, a 3.5" Y with a 3.5" dynomax bullet which is mounted along side the TA/driveshaft, it's not in this pic, but you can probably use your imagination...

I wouldn't say "only exhaust", I have 3" true duals with my xtreme torque arm, we just got creative and put the x-pipe right above the crossbrace droop.

From the above pictures, I think you'd have to channel the floor and put that BMR piece right up into it to do anything wth 2 pipes strait back like my exhasut was...

Madman is getting the nod for my rebuild.. and the mounting bar will get built into the 25.5, and tucked up into the floor... not 100% how yet, but it will be incorperated into the needed chassis bars.

I've considered attempting something like that, but I'm running 3.5" tubes and I'm less than optimistic about it fitting. Floor clearance is one issue, but another is how close the tranny crossmember is to the BMR crossbrace....i may just leave it as it is.

Give me a call. I can send you an un-assembled crossmember that you can bend around your exhaust.
