Decided to go auto, not sure which one
Guys, the car is going 130mph with the t-56 w/o nitrous. I've done the 1st-2nd-1st shift at the track for the last time, so auto it is..
I am looking for an AOD which pretty much leaves the top of the line 4l60, a 4L80, or the TCI 6X. 6L80/90 not an option.
Somebody recently popped the idea into my head that a 3.06 or 2.97 1st gear will be too steep for my set up w/ a 200 shot. Any thoughts on this? I am also concerned about the amount of tq being thrown at it if its a 4l60.
I know there is not a lot out there on the 6x, so I am looking at it more from a gear spread perspective - not a strength/reliability aspect. Though I do not like the fact that there is no engine brake feature
I am not concerned with price either, all three options are with in $2k or so of one another in the end - I'd rather do it right the first time if it means spending a little more.

If you go 60E you will certainly want to get with someone who knows howto build them. Anything short of top of the line won't last long(unless you get lucky). The 80E built just above stock will last nearly forever but as you notice has a tough first gear.

I think I remeber you from Byron when you first got you car back together. You were with a guy that had a red procharged vert. Anyways he was at Speed Inc's track day on 11/6/10 and had swapped to a 4L60E and was running awsome times and making a ton of power. So I say go with an 4L60E FLT/Yank combo. Speed Inc has a lot of customers with setup and running well into the 9s.
