Default 02 WS6 Build-up

Thought I would share this build on my 2002 Trans Am. First off I want to thank Rob Anger for the hard work that he has put into this build @ KPE Racing here in Wichita Falls Texas. I bought this car as a roller in Dallas to build a strip/street car, pretty much a race car with insurance and a inspection sticker lol!! First off I ordered alot of stuff from Wolfe racecraft like their moly torque arm kit, control arms, anti-roll bar kit, mini tubs, subframe connectors and their 10 pt. chromoly cage. I also ordered a moser 9 inch housing to bolt in that has been narrowed 3 inches on both sides and a complete chromoly front suspension kit from Racecraft. In 4-6 weeks I will have the 5 inch ws6 hood from VFN that is extended to the windshield, a fiberglass dash, rear bumper cut out for wheelie bars and a rear hatch. We are just getting started on the car and thought I would show off whats going on.

Here are some pics of the car when I brought it home.

Then I got it to the shop and started stripping it down.

Then the cutting began!!!

Then Rob started some of his badass fab work!!!

This is just the beginning of this so watch for the thread as I will post as we go along.

Here are some pics of our Dynojet chassis dyno and our DTS engine dyno. Check out the website also Kperacing.com as it is in the process of updating all the new projects. Also you can check out Kpe Racing on Facebook. Kpe is mainly a high performance engine shop but does do turn key builds evey now and then. Kpe also built the Duramax engine for Mike Woods Duramax Mustang.

Looks sick! My only concern is if there were any modifications made to the rear frame rails? I know a lot of classes say notching only. i don't see a problem with what you've done just a heads up! Keep it up, there is a lot of good parts going into that build for sure!

There isn't any mod done to the frame rails. The driver side was wrinkled up from a wreck which was fixed. I guess that's what you are seeing??

Was that a flood car before you picked it up? Just curous. Are those the Wolfe through the floor subframe connectors? If they are, do you have any shots from the bottom? Nice build!

[QUOTE=zracer323;14454331]Looks like a good start. What powerplant is going in it?[/QUOTE

I bought a brand new ls3 block and just putting a together a 421 with some WCCH stage 3 l92's, bullet soild roller cam, front distributer drive and we are going to build a sheetmetel intake to hold a couple 4500 carbs. This is all going in front of a powerglide tranny with a 4800-5300 converter. Also nitrous express willl have quite a bit of there product on the intake.

Heres a litlle update on the car. Got the 9" mocked in and all the rear suspension bolted in to see how everything will fit. Once I get it all together need to build wheelie bar brackets and get the anti-roll bar in and have the rear end housing powdercoated along with some other things. Still waiting on the fiberglass stuff to get in to mount the dash and get the cage put in it. The wheels are Champions and the rear tire is a 30x12.50 Et street. The rear will sit down lower once I get weight in the car. sits like a horny cat now.lol
