245-50-16 555R vs 315-35-17 555R vs ET's on A4 for track?
Here's the dilemna.
1. Keep my 245-50-16 nitto dr's and perhaps face going sideway's down the track (dunno if i have that much power). (cheap tires, no $$ spent)
2. buy cheapo ZR-1 replica's and rock 11" 315-35-17's with no sidewall, good for street, maybe better for track? Maybe not.
3. Get a $115 line lock and some ET slicks for the track and worry about dragging the parts to the track?
I'm not really interested in a cage, so anything less than 12.0 would be more than enough trouble. I like my interior the way it is, so does the lady.
Whatcha guys think? Rock what i got and thats it, or take the next step and spend alot of dough on tight 17's or go the ET/linelock way?
goal is as close to 12.0 as possible without going faster. Odd but i don't even have my own helmet or DS loop yet, so i dont wanna push the track-luck. I can borrow a helmet, and my bro has a metco DS loop. my car is 99% city street (not racing), and .5% highway, most likely on the way to the track and the .5% strip.
Hopefully the tracks will open up.
Gimme some advice from fella A4's on what works. I've only dragged this car once before all the major boltons/cam and it was a 13.7@103.45 with the 2.73/nittos/lid/catback, it wasn't really hard to pull that miserable time.

YEah I hate the front drivers. Its not just the imports. Some of the Grand Prix owners can be just as ignorant.
It sounds like the et streets would be your best choice. If your hell bent on getting nittos its a toss up. Id get the 16" ones since itd be cheaper because you dont have to buy the 17" wheels. Plus the 16" wheels will be quite a bit lighter.
