what are the main weight reducers
ok, in the fastest stock internals list i see lots of ta's at like 3300 and 3400lbs. im 3550 with me in it. i have taken out my spare, rear seats, drained washer fluid, and im guessing with the other seat out i could get close to 3500. what are yall doing to get to 3300 lbs without looking like bare bones.
do i have to start doing k-members and a-arms now or am i missing something.

i think if you have a cut-out you can drop your catback and loose 20 pounds, front sway bars, lighter wheels, and skineeeeees, (iheard a ZR1 wheel and tire wheigh like 60 pounds each!, remove all AC crap for like 40 pounds (who uses it anyway?), remove all the EGR and AIR crap for like 25 pounds, light weight carpet losses like 40 pounds, and like you said K-member,A-arms, etc ...
im sure theres more weight to be shed....look for COLONELS list of weight savers.....
his car weights less than a civic.....?

no carpet loses 40lbs. lightweight carpet weighs in at like 15(speed inc. carpet). lose the stock hood for an aftermarket one and save another 25lbs. if you are running stock rims/tires now, getting a set of slicks/skinnies on aftermarket rims for all the way around will save you about 30-40lbs depending on what rims you are running now. And that's weight off rotational mass which is an even greater help then weight off the car itself. got to check out the weight reduction post at the top of this page and you can get tons of ideas on where to go with the car and what you can and cannot live withou.

I got the A/C out, Spare/Jack, Rear seats, sway bar, also running slicks/skinnies....with the rear speaker panels out and the passanger seat and 1/4 tank of gas it should weigh right in at 3600-3620 w/me, I'm 215, going on a personal diet to 190.......
It weighed 3680 a while ago with a bunch of crap in the car.........
Not too bad for an iron block, procharger setup car.......Iron = 90-100lbs Supercharger stuff is right at 80lbs, and I'm sure my radiator is heavy too.....

The best bang for buck weight savings are drag rims.
You can make the factory carpet lighter by shucking off all the insulation and trimming off excess pieces. You dont have to spend money on this sort of stuff.
On another note, Smokin01ta did you and I race one morning on Jefferson a while back?

drag wheels and racing seats will help, either way at this stage in the game you will have to spend money to loose the weight unfortunately...that is why i bought a no option car, it doesnt take much to weigh 3300#
