How many of you completely remove the front sway bar at the track?

I took mine off as soon as I got the car pretty much! (About 1100 miles) But my car is just a toy not a daily driver. It would be a PITA to take it all the way off just to make a few passes IMHO. It actually doesn`t handle bad with it off as far as normal street driving goes. And in a straight line, it doesn`t matter a bit!

The reason for the remval of one side is for better weight transfer, it also more suspension movement in the front, allowing more weight to be transfered to the rear wheels. When removeing the whole thing, weight off the front just be comes added benifit. My front sway bar has been off for 11000 miles, and alot of street driving, no problems so far.

fbodies have front sway bars? lol
i have had mine off for years. on reg stock wheels up front, no difference at all. with skinnys, you will be passed by minivans in the corners. but it certainly helps lift the front off the ground and transfers the weight. worth a few ticks in the 60' times.

I went ahead and took mine off. I couldnt tell any difference in normal driving conditions. Now I did feel it sway a little when I was moving the steering wheel back and forth. I couldnt say whether or not it helped at the track because the weather conditions werent the same from the last time that I went. It took off some weight though and thats always a good thing.

A simple trick to do without removing the bar and to help with launching and still have cornering. Take the bar off and pull the bushings off. Take an air grinder with a plastic burr bit and 'route' the bushing out until you can put it on the bar, clamp it down and still have it spin freely. Try turning it on there before. Very hard. Then take a drill bit, drill a hole in the bushing bracket and a larger hole in the same spot all the way through the bushing, and install a grease zerk in the bracket. 1-2 shots of grease keep it loose. When you put the bar back on, don't tighten the end links all the way. That helps travel a bit.

mine has been off for 8,000 miles. no problems on the street. i tink the car still handles better than your average car. my 60' were 1.70-1.72 with swaybar in, LCAs and Nittos...1.66-1.68 with the bar removed.

The front sway bar is very rarely on that car. Street or track.
Yeah, the shock towers come up on turns, but it's not dangerous unless I'm trying to drive like an autocrosser. Wednesday night my car was lifting the front wheels 8" on launch, so it's not going back on anytime soon.

that statement doesn't make sense.
had mine off for years now, definately doesn't handle as well, but you don't notice after a while.
