Id like to see some too. I hate that heavy hatch but I dont like the idea of a pin on only. If it could hinge up top and be secured with dzus id do it easily. I would think it would be ok with speedglass but not sure im brave enough to attempt.

Yep and so is mine in the stock hatch. Its recomended at anything over 145, I wasn't going to screw mine, after a few test hits the rear glue wasn't holding and the rear glass was pushing out at the top. The factory hatch wieghs 46# w/out glass, struts and trim piece its up around 50#. The pin on weighs 8#. If you need more info lemme know, the only reason I didn't use one is I have fuel cell in trunk and for ease of re-fueling.

Where does the hatch connect to the roof/front of the car? Im not worried about the whole "pin on" part as long as I can reuse my SS spoiler?

From what I'm seeing, it doesn't, nor does it hinge. Also, the spoiler is molded in, so no use of any spoilers.

You would have Tabs underneath the window that would be similar to the fasteners on the outside of car but opposite. I'm sure you could fab up 2 small piano hinges in the corners to make it "hinged". As for the spoiler, yes dirty is correct, the factory z28 spoiler is molded into the hatch, there is also no gap between the hatch and spoiler like there is on the factory setup. Which is nice if you plan to run an aftermarket wing later down the road, you will not need that filler panel.

WHITELTONE I know this is an older thread, but I just got my VFN hatch and am looking at how to fix it to the body. I see you have the dezuzs's in the rear, so did you say that you pinned it from underneath at the top??
Did you buy already formed lexan??

Your best bet would be to PM him just incase he doesn't see this thread. It's hard to tell but the lexan is probably Speedglass which is already formed to fit the curve of the stock glass.
