Cool Someone give me a quick rundown on a nitto burnout??

I think i got enough power to say just throw in 2nd and smash the brakes and flash the converter and do a 3 second burnout at 18psi (245-50-16) DR's.

will that be sufficient?

Then just brake stand and find the best stall rpm to dead hook. I don't have the line lock on yet, so will the above be cool or not?

I run mine at 17psi hot, I put in in ist gear and hold the brake down and give it gas , run it about 4000 or so rpm until i see white smoke and let of the gas.

As for the launch thats gonna be trial and error on your part to see what your car likes.

I had close to the same set up as you and the nittos wouldnt cut it anymore no matter what i did, but I still like them for an everyday driver, great tires.

thats okay i got a line lock waiting , and my bro has ET's so if this doesnt workout, come back next week and try again with more traction. Goal is not to get kicked off the track for no cage. low 12's would be perfect on nitto's.

i've still got TQ mgmt on partially, and 2nd is shifting at 6100 not 6400-6600 so i'm not sure if i'll reach my goals.

Use the line lock and rev it to around 4500, hold until you see a nice cloud of smoke on both sides the car then you can get off. As for a launch they should stick with your converter. As for ET you should be a low low 12. Good luck.

i give it a little spin to wet the tires..(ive never had problems splashing water on the fenderwells or on the track...) then i pull up a bit, put the car in 2....burn first into second, then hold second at about 5700 or so (just low enough to stay off the limiter). when i see smoke, i count to 5 (BIG BURNOUT) then let off the brakes. i roll out of the burnout still on the gas up to the tree. (i dont like just stopping the wheels with the car sitting still). i usually leave at around 2200 RPM....let off the brake and hold the gas still coming out of the hole, then mash it 5 or 6 feet out and hold the hell on!....good for 1.6s.

what worked okay, but not great. brake stand in 1, when rpm's near redline, shift to 2
and hold it till the smoke clouds pour out.

best of night was 1.80 (4 runs, this was my first night out on the mods). I think i got more converter than i do have tires (for this track). Et's and the linelock seem to make sense.

hold for 6-8 seconds after you first start seeing smoke and then roll up to the line, no dry hops. you gotta get em hot. line up in the groove and you should cut a good 60'.

samz your car can cut a low 1.7/high 1.6's 60 foot. you just have to more seat time and practice.
