Default Check out my cage and seat brackets!

A buddy of mine is putting my cage in and I thought I would share it with you guys and see what yall thought. Let me know what you think.

Pics and info are quoted from a local forum.

First I took some measurements and bent up a template from 3/8 tubing. I find this to be the easiest way to figure the bend angles off of. There are 4 bends to each side of the arc, one of which I did not template for at the roof line.

Then out with the plasma to put a couple holes through the floor. - Not necessary for just a 6 or 8 point roll bar, but I'm going to tie it to a rear cross-member thus allowing for easy upgrade(25.x) later on down the road.

from underneath -

Now, my main hoop. Looks kinda funky outside the car, but I think fitment is about as good as it gets.

Slipped in/through the floor -

...and up into place -

Rear down-legs, stuck through the stock rear speaker holes -

Then on to the seat mounts for now. I prefer to know the driver positioning before running the cross tube or the door bars, thus to maximize function & side entry opening.

Simple manual slider bolted to the seat -

Simple mounting system. 5/8" box tubing & 1/8 plates. These rest on the rocker sill thus are roughly 2" above the floor -

No need for a slider on the passenger's side -

What y'all think so far? - I'm pretty happy with the fitment of everything. The main hoop took some time to get to my liking, but it's tucked as tight as reasonably possible.

Next will be to put the cross tube in the main hoop, bracket the seat backs to it(with a slider mount for the drivers') and tabs for the harnesses. Then have to get the door cards on to fit the door bars around.

----- End quote-----

What do you guys think? My main concern is the seat brackets. If you know a lot about passing tech ahem ahem JL ws6 let me know what you think of it.

Enjoy the pics and let me know what you think!

Thanks fellas

Dont hold me to it, but I was told seats have to be fixed, no sliders, to pass tech. Just what I heard

I don't know about sliders but the steel used to mount the seat looks way to tiny. I would either run a support to the floor or go with something with some more meat. I don't think you need sliders at the track.

Looks damn good aside from that.

That is one of the tightest main hoops on a rollbar I ahve seen to date, looks good.
The seat mounts, just make sure that they feel VERY solid, as in zero movement at all. If you put a brace to the back of them, I'm sure that they will be... but without one, it may not.

Agreed.

It's not legal without a brace connecting the main hoop cross bar to the seat.

Everything looks excellent man!!!

Looks amazing, I would consider this and I've always been against a cage/roll bar in my ws6! That is a very stealth setup though, I like it.

The kicker legs and door bars are the only major things left. After that it's harness brackets and a few tweaks and he will be done. Thanks for all the compliments guys. I am very pleased with his work so far. If you have any questions then PM me and I will forward them to him.

Also he is going to attach the seat to the cross bar. The seat felt very solid. I was skeptical at first but I tried to make it wiggle and I failed. It is as solid as a rock.
