Default Tim99ws6 25.3 Real Street 275 Build

I figure it's about time to release updated build pics of the girl. There's a pretty lengthy history on this car, so i don't think there's a point in giving "background".

What are we doing this year?

Quint and I have taken the plunge to build a competitive Real Street/Ultimate Street car for NMCA and the ORTC races. We're very lucky to have an extremely good chassis fabricator in Devlin Bomar. His shop is called Cage Rage Chassis. Anyone that wants work done definitely should consider him! 615-557-6760 My car is a 25.3 chassis 100% stock suspension setup staying to the true intent of "stock suspension racing.

The car will be a 76mm Turbo setup. I'm undecided on the turbo we will use yet as the new rules for this year have us re-evaluating our options. Trans will be a PG setup and the rear is currently a Burkhart 9".

For the Torque arm and LCA's I've leaned on Bob Ette@AEIcnc to come up with some mad scientist stuff. More on that later though

Tuning and chassis work I'm lucky to have the Jude Racing team (Adam Jude and Brent Daniels) that's been in NMRA and NMCA for a few years now as a Vortech car.

Main wrench turner and the one that'll truly make the car get down is my boy, Quint (deadhorse66). He and I will have a hell of a blast out there figuring out how to make this thing go down the track, haha.

Also on board is Dickson Graphics. We're are undecided on exactly what, but there will definitely be a new wrap on the car this year.

We'll post more pictures as they go, but here's a start. We got the car to the chassis shop about 2 months ago and this is where we are at right now.

Anyways, here's the pics. Isnt that what everyone wants to see anyways?!

Front to back I'll try to provide an update, haha.

In the front, we are running a Holley Hi-Ram 102mm setup. It's reversed and the firewall is dog-boxed to accept the new plenum.

Dont mind the wiring, that's all being re-done 100% as well

Inside the car, it's just a frenzy of cleaning up and cutting out the old cage. Per the NMCA rules, we'll be keeping the STOCK original doors that hung on the car, but removed them to make fab work easier for the time being.

Devlin is custom making the 25.3 chassis and you'll notice it's a big cage to fit me(6'6 240lbs.) The funny car hoop was also extended extra wide to give me the comfort in the shoulder area. The intercooler will now be a PT2400 sitting in a passenger sear(not pictured yet).

Of course, the make or break of the 25spec stuff is how clean the build the floor bracing. Here's the floor work on mine:

removable cross-brace

The rear of the car is getting a nice comfy set of tubs, and the burkhart narrowed 9".

Here's a pic of the car as it sits right now. Keep in mind the passenger side is about 1" too low, but damn it looks good. The passenger side is about where we expect it to run at.

here's a close up of the wheels we are running: Champion Double bead-lock Cap5.

Thanks guys!

It's still a home built-rig but we wanted to be sure the chassis and parts on it this time were top notch stuff. This time around it will be!

Basically doing the same exact thing as you are. Been debating it for a while and decided it was time to do the 25.3

Looks good! Where can I get that motorplate with all the cutouts? Look nice and different from all the other one piece setups.

Aeicnc.com and Bob set me up with that. I stand behind that he makes the Best motorplate on the market.

What size are those wheels and what back space? Do you know how narrowed the rear end is going to be? Very nice set up.

Looks great, I really like the motor plate. I guess you're going to make everyone else get a little more serious about real street.

Thanks man!

I don't know about that. I'd say both Preston's car and especially the lpe car are built to this level. This is just our backyard version of it. I just hope we can make enough steam with a 76mm to put a little fear into my competitors. We will see soon enough!

Thanks on the motor plate, bob@aei redid my original one with this one. He's excellent at making these things one-off.

Just thinking,

I really can't say enough about Devlin and Cage Rage Chassis' work. Attention to detail and quality of welds is something I really got screwed on with my last "cage" and I really struggled with finding someone I could trust and that was within my price range. Devlin's work fit my needs perfectly.

He's got his measurements for 10 and 8pt cage guys now regarding the main hoop and the other bars for other guys that just want the basic 8 or 10pt now. His welding and attention to detail is right on par with my OCD ***, haha. He just finished Brian's 3rd gen vert car and is doing an 8pt for someone else next month while mine is getting some other work done.

Last night he got the tub work done and made a good lick on the rear bars. By the end of this week we should have the rear of the car finished up and head up front for the charge piping inside the car.
