Default My buddie's newly caged 3rd Gen Vert

Been a long time coming. This car was also in the GMHTP article about the LTx Shootout. It had a stock LT1 with a hotcam and a 200 hit. We had it down to 10.6's end of last year. Obviously, it was time to get the car a little safer this winter. We worked a deal with the local chassis guy to do his cage while he was doing mine and a few other cars. Great prices and the work is excellent!

Here's the pics. Still need to tab the cage out for seats/belts/etc, get in the door bars, window net, and finish weld everything in but you get the basic look. I love the look! It'll cert 8.50 and it's all CM.

I agree. I know he got the car back home and was working on finishing painting the cage so he could get the interior back in the car. Hopefully he can post up some more pics. Here's what it looks like stepped back a bit.

lol,

Sorry about that. We can bring up the car with the new engine package if they will let him in? I'm sure he'd be happy to oblige!

I had my fair share of them back in the day, but i am not such a fan of the bodystyle now. I do, for some reason, love Brian's. It's CLEAN.

Now that car is going to move out. The cage really looks nice!!! Brian maybe they will let you race with the top down. That way everyone will be able to check it out.

"Would the owner of the green 3rd gen please put your top up, thank you" lol. Good runs at the shootout! Sucks to hear you are ditching the LT1 though.

Thanks for all the compliments! I will say I enjoyed having the LT1 in the car and enjoyed the shootout last year! The one event everyone is open about their setups and just out to have a good time! Had we kept the LT1 it was going to get some serious attention for this coming year, I don't think the hotcam, stock head, and stock bottom end would have liked another year. LOL Thats where the decision was made to swap out to a LS set up. Should make a little more power this go around.

Here are a couple pics with the cage painted, as you can see I painted it to match.

Really digging the body color cage, makes the cage not stand out nearly as bad and looks more in place
