I was going to put the harness in the car but the shoulder straps are about a ft or so too long....... It's this one http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BOB-50502-18-23/

The car is just a 00' z28 with a 6-point bar, they are suppose to bolt to the crossbar.....what is going on???

The belts are about 39" total when adjust the smallest and 51" at the longest

Just cut them off and start over. It's a common deal to have to shorten a strap. Do one at a time so you have a guide of how to re-loop through the hardware. Also, melt the end off the strap so it doesn't frey, match, heat gun, small torch. Chuck

return them for a different style. upgrade camlocks, I run them and can shorten them up fine, not sure my PN

The only reason you can't is the actual attaching eye-bracket. Just get rid of them and get the ones that you can shorten a belt with. They are cheap and can be bought seperately. Once you cut them to length and get the new eye-latches setup, go over the ends of the belt with a heat gun to melt the ends so they dont fray up.

Bingo. Loop through your bolt on mount then weave it through that piece to lock it down. Or turn them into a roll bar wrap around mount. I have extras of that bracket if you were close to Youngstown, Ohio.....would hook ya up. Or return em and get a new set, your choice.

Never seen a belt like the one u have there. So there is "limited" adjustment?

correct, It only has the single pull down adjustments above the latch which gives me about 10-11 inches of adjustment and I need about another 12 inches of adjustment.
I'm kinda screwed either way, I either send them back and pay for shipping and get a different brand or I pay for the slide adjusters. I tried calling RJS 3 times yesterday but no one answered

Cut it + use the latch thing, then melt where you cut with a lighter. Thats what I did on mine.

Didn't you get a paper with your RJS belts how to set them up? I think mine did, with those metal adj bars. Back when I had a Wolfe bolt in. It was wrap around shoulder straps and I read it how to set them up. But my fried that has a chassis shop did it with me in the car, and already knew how they go. Not saying Deitcoke has it wrong be there was some special way to loop then they wanted.

they are looped through the brackets and sewn, mine don't have the adjuster bars back towards the crossbar like yours do. Mine only have the 2 pull-downs towards the bottom of my ribs. The only way to make them work is to do what everyone else said and cut them. I didn't spend money on something just to cut them so I bought another harness from the local speed shop and I'll be sending these ones back. I missed a weekend of racing and don't plan to miss another because of something dumb.

For future reference I talked to someone at RJS today and she said Part#50502-19-23 is what I needed, thanks everyone for the help and advice
