Default patriot stg 2 5.7 heads-224r cam 1/4 times.

OLD TIME:12.50@111.7MPH-1.80 60 FT.(SS3200,342,COLD AIR INDUCTION,PORTED TB,LS6 INTAKE,BBK SHORTIES,OFF ROAD X-PIPE,STRAIGHT PIPES,LS1 EDIT TUNE.)

NEW TIME:12.11@114.5MPH-1.79 60 FT(PP 5.7 STG 2 HEADS,224R CAM ,LT HEADERS,LS1 EDIT DYNO TUNE)

NOT TO IMPRESSED WITH THE NEW #'S. MPH I WISH WAS A LITTLE HIGHER(116ish)).RAN WITH THE 18'' BFG DRAG RADIALS FROM THE 17'' NITTOS. I DID TAP THE REV LIMITER ON THE 1-2 SHIFT AND 2-3 SHIFT,BUT DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH TIME WAS AFFECTED. ONLY GOT 2 RUNS IN.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THESE TIMES?? WEATHER WAS 20 DEG WARMER FROM PREVIOUS BEST.

The air makes a big difference. The car would go high 11's with the same air temp as before.

What was your before and after dyno numbers? They are SAE corrected for weather conditions and would give a good indication if there is something wrong or not. Do you have the after dyno graph with the A/F ratio you could post?

Sounds like something is amiss. You should be close to running high 11's with just the cam and the mods you listed provided what conditions you had. Obviously if you live in Tucson AZ then you aren't too far off being the air quality up there often is very similar to what you would see 1 - 1 1/2 miles above sea level but if the conditions were alot better than that then I don't know what to think. First off you probiably have to get your shift points adjusted. Next you should probiably get the car chassis dynoed and see where your curve is at with a AF ratio. You might be hella rich. Just a few things I can think of at this time. Hope you can get it figured out man.

Tapping the limiter is 1-2 mph and 1-2 tenths each time. I think you have 117mph with a clean run easily.

Did you hit the limiter hard at all?

If all conditions were equal to the before runs, i think your car could have ran a 11.80 @ 117+. Not too bad. MAybe with a better tune, 1.65 60' you could be in the 11.59 rang @ 118-119. Just keep trying

takes time to get use to a new combo. you are still running a 3200 converter with 3.42 gears with the new H/C combo?? I noticed your 60' is still a 1.79 compared to a 1.80. Are you sure you are hooking? Lots of variables here.

Yeah, I agree. Weather / altitude can play a huge part on trap speed and ET. You can loose 3-4 mph just due to high humidity or low pressure. I always record the temp, pressure and humidity from my runs to make better comparisons.

I just ran a 11.61 @ 118.6 at a density alt. of about -1050 ft with a slightly smaller cam than yours.

definitly either mess with the shift points or up your rev limiter if you dont think it will kill your valvetrain. I know my car banged the rev limiter on just the 2-3 shift was 5mph quicker in the 1/8th but only 1mph quicker at the end of the track. If you dont tag the limiter you might have gained .2-.3 and 2-3mph. Also your 60's should be a little better, you might wanna see whats up with that if your spinning er if you can launch a little different.

when i ran my 12.50 weather was 45 deg. da about +1800. last friday it was 65 deg and +2800 da. car dynod 398 rwhp 385 rwtq previous dyno 325- 342 i ran the car with the new 18'' bfg drag radial from the 17'' nittto and didn't notice any tire spin. i think with the same weather (45 deg) letting the car cool down, and not hitting the rev limiter i would have seen 11.90 -i would hope.

Damn dood where are you located? 45 deg and you are getting a +1800 dA
You must live way about sea level. You can correct your 1/4 mile times to reflect times at sea level.

I had HPP and was getting 13.2 - 13.2 hitting my limiter. I tried shifting sooner and stayed the same. I raised the rev limiter and the shift points by a few hundred rpm and got to 12.86 and gained 1mph.

I have a buddy that ran a 11.50 @ 122.5 w/ patriot 5.7 and a 231/237 w/ a 1.84 60 ft. time. It's a 6 spd car also. I really think that the patriot heads are crap to be honest. The car ran a 11.7 @ 118 w/ an ls6 cam and stock heads and I know most of the mph he picked up was from the bigger cam. He's going w/ some nice 6.0 heads now so it should be interesting! I think your times should be a good bit better though, keep workin at it!

1fast...im just going to be blunt...unless you are at high elevation those numbers are bad...

you should be well into the 11's with those heads/cam...

i ran a 11.8 @ 116 cam only (228/230 .571 .573 112lsa) 3.42 gears, 3200 stall, full exhaust, intake, with minor weight taken out (spare, jack, back seats).

i put in a bigger cam and pp 5.3 stg 2's and im right at 400 unlocked...going to a bigger cam and these heads if i dont trap 120 i will be very dissapointed...

you need to find out if there is a flaw in your setup or if your car isnt making the power...sounds like it isnt making the power...

You and I are in a similar boat. I just put 55cc cnc ported 98 heads on my vette.

I run on average 1.7 60' and 11.6-11.8 at 115-118. I thought I would pick up more from the heads. I picked up .3 and 3mph with the heads. Now that the air is crappy, new bests will have to wait until fall.

Car runs strong just not as strong as some other vettes with heads/cam.
