My TA 60's like a slug and I have no clue why...
I haven't been to the track in the last 2 seasons (approx), but I've been plaqued with poor 60' times and it just doesn't make sense to me why. This past weekend I launched the car hard, soft, on the transbrake and footbrake. It didn't seem to matter at what RPM I launched at either. The last time I raced I had the same problem w/my 60' times. All of them were between 1.63-1.71. Any ideas, suggestions, etc would be greatly appreciated.
I have the following hardware on the car:
TH400 w/2.75 First Gear
3.73 Rear Gears in Strange 12-bolt
Steel Driveshaft
Spohn TA w/a pinion angle of -3
KBDD Subframe Connectors
BMR Extreme Duty Adjustable LCA
BMR Dragrace Rear Anti-Roll Bar
BMR PHR
Airbag in right rear spring
PA Racing Tubular K-Frame
QA1 Adjustable Shocks with front coil over springs ( settings are 2 to 3 front, 5 to 7 rear).
10-point chrome molly cage
Weld Draglites: 15x3/5 front/15x10 rear
Hoosier Tires: 26" front runners @ 35psi/28x10.5 slicks @ 12psi
This is what the car looks like launching (looks soft) granted the nose does come up quite a bit:

Yeah, it's stock cubes. I feel that I may over power the 26" tires. I use to have nitrous on the car and launching on the transbrake I would kill 26" slicks... that's why I switched to 28s. I'll try some 26's this weekend and see what happens. Thanks!
I've ran a best 60' time before switching over to HAL shocks of a 1.46 on a nitrous pass w/Hoosier 27" QTP. I guess I need someone to set my car up... didn't expect the HAL's to cause this, maybe it could also be my pinion angle, could it have changed? I'll have to check it.
