Default ET Street radials VS ET Drag slicks articals in the new hot rod

hey did you guys see the new hot rod today?

they have a artical where they compare a 275/60/15 et street radial to a 28x9x15 et drag in 60ft times

its a crazy test the car is a 71 nova i believe theyjust did 60ft launches and a few full passes

the etdrags did low 1.6 60fts and mid 11s at 117 with 12 lbs of air
the etstreets did low 1.5 60fts and 11.30 at 117 with 15 lbs of air
that is just f**king nuts that a radial is dooing better then full slick

but they do state that they sould not be used for you everyday tire but omg thats nuts

check it out guys

Outlaw, user on here, has a set appearantly for testing and nailed a 1.38 short time. I just asked him what he normally cuts with drags or streets for comparo. If the cars are setup for that tire and combo then they should 60 well. I used to nail 1.52 on a 26x8.5x15 with HAL shocks as my only suspension upgrade.
Will be nice to have an alternative.

After reading the whole article.. looks to me the ET Street Drag Radials weren't nearly as consistant as the Drags. Which is the reason I run a sticky tire...

12 psi does seem kinda low dont it?....
also look at the tire sizes...

isn't 275/60/15 a 26" tire?
and the drag was a 28" tire...

if the car was not really high hp then the taller tire would hurt both 60' and 1/4 times right?
wonder what the result would have been with a 26" slick?

A 275/60/15 is pretty close to a 28 x 9 slick or 28 x 11.5 et street. I run 275/60/15 on the street and 28 x 11.5 et streets at the track and the advertised height is about 27.5-27.8" on each. Sitting them next to each other and they are damn close!

275/50/15 would be the 26" tire.
