Default remote water pump 2nd guess

Hi, I'm rather new here but have been lurking for a long time, the last few months I'v been keeping an eye on remote water pump set ups using the handy search box, I know most use the meismer water pump that pushes 55gal per minute. I struggled with the thought of buying a 450.00 water pump if it wasn't totally necessarily for just running down the 1/4 mile track. I just don't think I'll be on the street to much any more so I went with a 35gal per min pump, it only has a 3/4" inlet... I converted it to a -16an fitting and the two outlets are also 3/4" and -12an fittings as I have seen this size plumbing on almost all remote set ups. Now I'm having second thoughts on this pump, has any one else tried this and if so how dose it keep up with cooling? Thanks.

Thanks guys, I'm planing to run e-85 non-intercooled, straight water for coolant, Just seems like the plumbing is small along with the gpm of the pump, maybe these engines dont run as hot like the old bbc's Im used to? For right now I'm just going to push the limits of a stock lq4 with a 78mm turbo.
