4L80E who's running one?
Picked up a used 2002 4L80E last night. I have a few questions....
It has approx. 25K miles on it, so i doubt it needs a rebuild. I've seen alot of people simple toss on a TransGo HD-2 kit and run it as is.
What mods do you suggest before i toss it in, if any?
Who makes 4l80e to LS1 converters?
Who makes a T/A relocation/4l80e mount?
Thanks in advance for any replies. The help is much appreciated.
It will be going behind a LQ4 and be backed by a 9" for what it's worth. **Edit** Change of plans, we decided to go with a 9" instead. Got a great deal on a 35 spline locker third member.

Ok here's another think to think about....
Since the 80e has a softer 1st gear than the 60e.... should a short arm be used to hit the tires harder? Both a short arm and long arm set-up come in at around the same price so that removes price from the equation.

So ttt with this one.
I have the install part and converter figured out. Now im stuck on the Torque Arm, I am leaning toward a short arm for packaging reasons. Would that be a wise choice for a car that will probably never see a 9 sec pass?
I'm aiming for mid 10's on spray when it's all said and done. For the time being anyways.

It will see street driving 5-10%, if that. It has been sitting for over a year, since I got a DD. The only driving it will see is when the wife wants to go to the beach t-tops off or when en route to a race/track.
So i guess that answers my question.

Short arm will serve your purpose very well, not to mention the long arm combined with the 4L80 trans is extremely tight at the trans.
Give me a call... I have the crossmembers, torque arms, and rearend for your project. I personally have owned the same combo you are going with here and can give you all the insight needed for the project, and a great deal on all the parts.

I will be running a 4L80E soon.
I will be going with the Midwest Chassis crossmember & Torque arm mount with driveshaft loop... Lowered version so i can run a large Diameter 3.5" Cat back system.
I have the Midwest Chassis Short Torque arm / Fab 9 in my 98 Camaro & it Rocks !
Great Fabrication work over at Midwest Chassis.
PCM For Less makes a 4l60e to 4l80e plug & play harness.
