Default Is it possible to have too many rim screws?

I have saw an article stating how many to use per 1/8 et and trap speed but nothing saying too many. I just got done with my wheels and their new 16 holes. All are straight across from each other and I will tap each hole since I am already started without the tires on and such. So can there bee too many is what I am wondering. Hoping for 11.4 out of it this year and mods are in my signature.

So you drilled 8 holes per side of the wheel? Might be a little much compared to others I've seen with cars faster than your level; ultimately the result of whether the tire moves on the rim or not is your main concern.

Would think as long as your not fatiguing the metal, should be fine. May have to add air to the tires regularly (leaks).

Since you already did this, let us know how it works.

If you put screws in, get yourself a set of tubes, they're going to leak. I ran 16 screws per tire with my Novartis, other then the constant air leaks it was fine.

I run 16 screws a rim on some 33X16's on a 15" rim. I have to run tubes to keep them from going down too.

Damn that auto correct on my iphone POS is retarded. Thing turned bogarts into whatever that work is LOL.

I phone, supposedly so smart.. well let me tell you if the spellcheck was 1/2 as smart as they try to tell you it is, then shouldn't it be putting in a word that makes sense? Or just leave it red so you'll notice it, and correct it yourself?

Stupid phone.

Off my rant now.

For the record, I will say that I always put a layer of liquid dish soap on the inside of the tires before mounting them, and I put it on heavy and let it dry. This helps stop the tire itself from leaking air.

The 18192 hoosiers that are now on my car are mounted on a sander double beadlock wheel, and in 6 months never leaked down at all. Dbl beadlocks FTW!

8 screws per side (16 per wheel) is pretty much the standard and will work well. I have 16 per side and 32 per wheel on mine and it has never given me an issue going as quick as 1.022 60'.

I just got sick and tired of the screws leaking air.. and even more sick and tired of having a tire monkey bend my wheels every time the tires were changed... solution: Sander Engineering double beadlocks! They're WAY cheaper then a weld, and everyone I know that's used them has had zero issues. Wheels are SFI approved as well.

I've never leaked air with rim screws and no tubes? Guess just lucky. 33x15x15, coated with liquid dawn.

8 per side here as well. Used the Dawn dish soap trick and they leak about a pound a week while on the car. No tubes

12 per side here, but I only did that many because it's a stick car.

12 per side is what Mickey Thompson recommends. I bought the template and run 16 a side with tubes made my 60ft more consistent and was worth at least .05 from no screws at all depending on the application. I know that's what I gained.
