Default New best-231/237 "cam only"

Finally got to make a few clean passes with the new cam. It dynoed earlier last week @ 405/380 through a 12 bolt w/ 4.11s and Denny's nitrous shaft. My previous best with bolt-ons is in my sig, and I still have room for improvement in the 60' plus there was a slight headwind today.
Break down was like this:

60': 1.72
1/8: 7.55@93.71
1/4: 11.74@117.83

I'm definitely loving the newfound power!

I can't honestly say as our track does not currently have a functioning scale. Weight reduction consists of skinnies, no front sway, no spare/jack and driver's seat only. The passes were made on 26X11.5X16 ET Streets on Salad Shootas.

Wow going from a 12.08@ 114.82 to a 11.74@117.83 with a cam only change is way cool.

What did she dyno before the cam change?

Wow, that dyno'd well through a 12 bolt and 4.11s. There is a 231/237 going in my car right now hope for those numbers through a 10 bolt and 3.42s!!!

I don't have a dyno sheet with the Kooks longtubes, but I did put down 337/349 prior to them. I would guess high 350s/low 360s with the headers.

Charles, I think if the white car runs 11.50s, the blue car will run 11.40s!

The dyno numbers are nice, but the way it runs on the street/track is where it really counts! I'm sure you'll be really happy with the cam...it pulls hard and sounds REALLY nice idling at 900-950, just make sure you get it tuned.

No dude, I am a total dyno queen, and a cruise night king.

Seriously though, if I can run low 12s through the stock rear on Nittos I will be totally happy. I am basically shooting for a bad *** street car that sounds tough. I am not out to set any records..actually the car is more aimed at autocross at this point (see sig). I think this will accomplish my goal. It is a full bolt-on car, and will be getting a full dyno tune done by Speed, Inc.

Thanks for the info, and good luck!!

your 224/224 is fine granted my slug's only been 11.50 but its still pretty good for a baby cam lol. Whats sick is the SI guys running 11.2-5's now!

anyway, congrats on the ET! You should have some definite 11.4-6's soon with that setup!

I think the cam would be pretty decent for a road course car, but it will be important to keep the revs up some as it IS somewhat peaky. Those peak numbers are damn nice, though.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

Congrats on the great cam only results! I remember back in the day when heads/cam cars didn't run that!!
