Default 10.989 @ 123MPH--I'll take it

I have had tune/trans problems since November last year,so,after getting my stocker rebuilt[thanks Jeff] and 50 break in miles[sorry Jeff,I know you said at least 100 miles]the car had to get some shakedown runs.

60---1.534
330--4.494
1/8--6.999/98.26
1000-9.126
1/4--10.989/123.26

10.991/122.92,10.997/123.27,10.994/122.58

I have to add this and it transcends ETs and racing,it is about people.Pete came out to the track and brought his trailer[just in case] and slicks,Mike M did all the heavy work, changed tires and more[Mike was the Hotshoe for me],Jeremy worked the vids and he also took my trans to Jeff[trans man] brought it back to me and drove Jeff out to do some final tweaks on the unit. This is a great group of young men who helped out this grumpy old man. Thanks men.

I have some issues to work out and this car will go 10.6s easy. The trans worked fine and I did not blow the 10 bolt up,yet.

Thanks to Jay at Absolute Speed for all his effort.[Jay,just don't wear that Pink Jui Juitso outfit,LOL,I heard about that story]

Sweet!

Congrats! even though I'm a resent new member Welcome to the club!

I was at Cecil County, ran a 10.93, 10.92, and a new best mph of 123.71.

You, like me, need to work on the 60fts. I'm probably gonna step up to a 26x10 slick and finally start buying some suspension stuff .

Hey John

It was great to see your car actually move for the first time in over a year. We just have to work suspesnsion gears and tires . Plus next time we can bring a good laptop with atap so we can actually see whats going on shift points etc. Plus remind me to bring the sunscreen man I got burnt to a crisp!!.

The car felt great, it makes awesome power, and the trans shifts awesome. The only problem we were having is it still has the stock torque arm. and panhard rod. When I launched the car it would shake violently for a good 50ft. It still pulled the wheels until it shook. Then everytime It hit 2nd gear it broke the wheels. not to mention it was short shifting at about 6000. Once we swap a good tq arm and pan, rod we will be able to get those mid to low 1.4 60's. We got the 1-2 shift points fixed but someone tok out the lights and called it a day. we could have hit the 10.80s. Once we swap the tq amr and maybe finally put that 12 bolt in with the 3.73s instead of the 3.42s thats in it I think it will hit the 10.60 range easy. Great 1st day of shake down runs. It was good to finally get that car out there, now its my cars turn.

Good runs jfm Get the suspension set up and some gears and you should slid into the 1.4s. Here is what i learned with my car with a Adj. TA. With the pinion angle at -2 vs. -3 i shaved off .02-.03 60ft. on back to back runs with only the angle changed and last month with a RR air bag set at 24psi. i shaved off another .02 on my 60ft,with a good hooking track. I think with my cam only setup and what i have learned with my suspension i should nail consistant 1.4 60fts. this fall in good air so just think of what your car should do.

You and some of the other guys are making me want to pass on going for the cam only record and slap some heads on the car

Streetstalker,I hear you on the suspension.I know my air bag was flat,my fault for not airing up before the tire went on.The old set up used to 60' at 1.47 to 1.50 all day, best yesterday was a 1.51 and I really expect 1.43 to 1.45s.Good luck on your quest for 10s cam only.

Sean, thanks bud, good luck with your set up.

The track has no scales there, but the car would have weighed 3350 but we had to put the stock battery in it. So i would say just under 3400.

Very nice runs. Deep in the ten's is very attainable. StreetStalker, good luck in running better times and your quest for the cam only record.

DMcRacer,I had Hoosier Drags 26x10sx15 on Weld 10x15 rim, cold psi 11 to 11.5.It was the first time out with that combo. The Hoosiers are taller than a MT 26x10x15,so,it did take a bit of the 3:42 away. The 10 bolt is still quiet and happy, for how long, who knows.

Time to install the Moser 12 bolt,Wolfe single sway bar,3:73s or 4:10s,spool and a torque arm.

Big Mike, thanks bud, been too long[16 months]since the car made any passes.

Thanks Marc and to all for the support.

JS,I am thinking of going across the pond to ESP for a NoGo[Kevin] tune myself, great bunch of people at Eastside. Please let us know how your tune goes and then get some shakedown time in.
