I need to launch better...
Guys, I need your advice. My best 60' that I can seem to get right now is a 2.1. I have the M6, and I am putting down 345 RWHP, and 360 RWTQ... my tires are BF Goodrich T/A KDW's -- 275/40s. Now I know I forgot to drop the tire pressure, so that is certainly one thing I can do... but I want to focus more on the launching technique itself...
I tried numerous things, and they all pretty much resulted in 2.2 60's.
I tried 1200 RPM - drop the clutch, slam the gas
I tried 1400 RPM - drop the clutch, slam the gas
I tried 1800 RPM - quickly slipping the clutch and giving it gas, then flooring it
My friends told me to give a 2300 RPM drop a try... I ran a 15.2 @ 106, lol...
For some reason, my best launch, 2.1, came when I did about a 1800 feather, and slam the gas, but I thought I redlighted, and as a reflex, slightly let off the gas, then got right back on... I don't think I could duplicate this back-asswards way to launch a car if I tried, and I certainly do not want to...
Any tips?
The guys on f-body.com are telling me that a 2.1 60' on street tires really isn't all that bad, and there isn't a WHOLE lot of room for improvement, but anything I get will just be out of experience... but I have a buddy with a 2000 SS who ran 13.1 @ 107 stock telling me that I should be able to get that down to 1.9 and pull off a 12.8. What do you think?

1.9 only if there is an amazing track prep, talking world class events lol. 2.0 with some practice. 1.9 on a drag radial sure. not on a traditional hard sidewall radial. put on a better tire and watch the traction increase. sliping the clutch will help get you into the 2.0 area possibly.
