Default Quest for the 10's update (Saturdays results also)!

Well, went out last night to brake in the new 30x9x15 slicks at LSRP(1/8 mile). I tried 13 psi the 1st TT and it resulted in a 1.56 60ft 7.15 @95 mph. The next TT I droped the tire psi to 12 and it resulted in a 1.52 7.08 @ 95.75. The last TT i droped the tire psi again to 11 and the results were 1.52 60ft 7.08 @ 95.53.

1st round of the jackpot bracket race and dailed in a 7.07. Tire psi at 12. I cut a .511 light to his 5.48. He fell way off his diall and I just let off the gas at the top end. I ran a 1.52 60ft 7.20 @ 84 mph on a 7.07 dial.

Next round I dial a 7.05. I get the guy on the tree again with a .519 to his .586 Car runs a 1.52 60ft 7.09 @ 94. I dumped it at the top end.

3rd round I cut a .532 light to his .565. I run a 1.52 60ft 7.07 @ 95 on a 7.06 dail in.

Final round I raced a guy I know very well so we split the money. We ran just for fun. I dialed a 7.06 and got put in the right lane. I had not run in the right lane all night. I cut a .542 light to his .600. I my car just didn't 60ft. It went a 1.56 and ran way off. A 7.16 on a 7.06 dail. The other guy ran a 6.94 on a 6.90. It was late last night when we ran. 10:50pm. My weather station said 99% humdity. The dew was real heavy. Oh well had a great time and Iam ready for today. We have a big points race and the 1-10 series race today at LSRP. The track will ge be today and I hope to run in the 1.50 60ft range.

The huge new tires were working great. They do rub my fender well just a little bit on the pass side at the front of the fender well. Not much to worry about in the 1/8 mile but the Hot Rod will have to go to Madman to fix that before next weekend at HRP.

Good luck to ya if ya are racing today.

Good job coach !

I totally blew it this weekend. First time trial, ran 7.14 with .514 light
Second time trial, 7.13 with a way red .449. That threw me off the rest of the night.

Round 1. I cut a crappy .582 to his .525, then coast through the traps to a 7.10 on a 7.12 dial.

Bought back in. Ran 7.09 on a 7.07 dial. But I cut .611 light . Needless to say, my day was done.

Thanks guys.

I will try to get some pics of the tires on the car this week. They sure do look cool on the Hot Rod. We have had 30x9x15s on the car before when we had the 6-soeed in the car. They just were not the big 98 inch roll out. Madman cut and rerolled the fender wells last year.

Well, Saturday was a fun day of racing. We had about 150 cars at the track yesterday. We were running our 1st points race for the I-10 series. It is a series of race which put San Antonio Raceway vs Lone Star Raceway. After 6 races the top 8 per track meet up to race for $7,000.00 in Sept.

At this race you can buy 2 tech cards. $1,000.00 to win. Of course I had 2.

Now for the results. I went 3 rounds on my points card. Yes, I got treed!
His .526 to my .548.(same guy I ran the night before in the jack pot final) He ran a 6.94 on a 6.90 and I ran a 7.10 on a 7.07 dial. I screwed this one up. I short shifted the car and she slowed.

On the other tech card I went out in the 4th round. I red lighted with a .499 with a 7. Damnit, I need to win that round!
I ran a best for the weekend this round. 1.510 60ft at 7.06 @ 96.01 mph on a 7.09 dial. The other guys light was a .542 and he ran a 8.74 on a 8.70. My day was done or should I say night. It was 1:15 am. Needless to say it was a long day.

The new 30x9x15 slicks helped the car out. I can't wait to see what they do in the 1/4 mile. That may have to wait another weekend. Iam in a points battle at both HRP and LSRP. I should be #2 at both tracks. Now, what do I do? Run both Saturday and Sunday point races this coming weekend at LRSP or do I run at HRP points race Saturday and LRSP Sunday?

If yours are the 30x9 radials, my Stock buddies in NHRA / IHRA run them between 16 and 20 psi. If so, you might try bumping them up.

They are not radials. I want to try a set. Maybe next time I need slicks. Like in 6 weeks.

See ya Wednesday Jason.

It'll be nice now you can race the 1/4 and not have to worry about hittin the limiter before the traps =)

Good luck this weekend Bro!

good to hear the new tires worked out well for you Coach!

I finally broke my red-lighting and 1st round losing streak at 6....unfortunately I lost 2nd round but I didn't care. Was freakin' happy to finally win a round!

I'll be racing the formula this weekend, maybe I'll have better luck with it...
