I dropped 3 tenths when I removed my A/C belt. A/C runs on its own belt, it's easy to do.

I know that you can bypass the powersteering, but Im not looking to do that. I drive the car to and from the track, so I need it. I was going to remove the a/c belt for the track, but was wondering if its even worth it. What kind of gains can I expect?

Camaroholic: Did you really drop 3 tenths? Sounds a lot for just bypassing the a/c. Did you do anything else when you removed the a/c belt?

From bypassing the alternator, power Steering, and A/C, I dropped 1 1/2 tenth off of my 1/4 mile e.t. It's not hard swaping the belts back and forth. If you bypass the alternator, be sure to put the stock belt back on after 3 back to back runs. If you have to wait a while, do it after every run so that you won't have to ask for a jump start.

I only dropped .05 average pulling the AC belt. But it is measureable gain.
