Practice your launch. It's all in the 60'.
For street tires, feather the clutch. Launch max at 2500 rpms, but most likely around 1800-2000rpms. Also, on street tires, a 2.0 is not bad. That's where you should be. That would cut .6 seconds off your time.

thx...ive actually gotten better times by peeling out at the start (not on purpose though) i tend to get worse times because i try to hard not to loose traction in that first stretch

60' sux lol. But don't feel bad, first time I went to the track I ran a 2.3 60'. Just keep going to the track. SEAT TIME! BTW, your mph should be good for high 13.70's, 13.80's

Need to get the sixty foot down. Get appropriate tires as already mentioned. If possible get the slicks for maximum performance. The MPH will increase and the ET will drop proportionately with the drop in ET. IMO you can run in the 13.3 to 13.7 range. Cheers and good luck.

IMO slicks help a lot... but they also get you in grave danger of breaking something. Rear end, clutch, and driveshaft are all vulnerable when you put slicks on.

I ran a best of 14.3 @ 101 bone stock in my car, first time out with the 6-speed.

For nittos there are 555R and tirerack.com and discounttiresdirect.com sells them.
Tire Rack is one of the sponsors------->
Nitto, BFG, and Mickey Thompson all make drag radials.

Drop your tire pressure.
Dont worry about tires right now. If your out just to have fun and want some better times just practice and drop your tires to around 23psi. That worked well for me on stock tires.

I had the similiar time 14.2 but i trapped at 104.5...My 60' was awful like yours. Then again I have only made three passes at the drag strip. Just get seat time.
