Default Pinion angle was +1!!! Set it to -3. Do you think that was hurting my 60 ft.?

Well as you all know by now, my 60 fts. having been sucking major butt and Ive tried so many different things to help it out, but no luck. I finally got off my butt and put the car in the air with the suspension loaded equally and discovered that the pinion angle was +1!!! So I went ahead and changed it to -3 which where everyone was telling me it will work best for at the track. Anyhow, my questions is if that could be why my 60 fts. were so bad? Do you think it will improve now that its set at -3? I took the angle of the driveshaft (-1) and the angle of the rear end (2) and did the math. -1-2=-3 According to the instructions on the Spohn torque arm, it says the correct way to find the true pinion angle is to take the rear end angle and subtract it from the driveshaft angle. Anyhow, what ya think? Thanks.

Yah that can make a difference.

I ran -2.5 for like five years, 1.48-1.52's.

That will help alot. I dialed mine in at the track to see the difference because the old TCS converter was hard to hook. -2 pinion angle got a 1.61 60ft. then changed to -3 pinion angle with no other changes but the pinion angle and cut 2 back to back 1.58s.

I left it there and the Yank really loved the -3 angle with winter time 60fts. in the 1.51 range and summer time in the 1.55-1.56 60fts. Getting the suspension dialed in makes a big difference when it all works together, which i done AFTER the cold air went away

Im anxious to go to the track and see if it helped any. I was going to go today, but they had some even going on. I hope this helps because Ive tried so many different things and no improvement. Just to double check...did I measure the angle correctly? I did it the way the instructions for the torque arm said it to do. If I did them right, then the true pinion angle is set at -3 exactly. Like I said above, it was at +1 so hopefully that was the problem. I had to move it quite a bit.

Just out of curiosity, how much could the pinion angle affect the 60 ft. particularly mine? (Had it at +1, now its at -3) Thanks.

So I can learn some from this thread, how does the pinion angle affect the 60'? My suspension is still stock, and that's gonna be my next step here, don't know much about it, so if someone could explain this, that'd be great...thanks!
