needed at the strip?? what kind of stuff do i need to run at the strip in IA? never ran before, so i don't really know what i need to be legal, other than a helmet.

To make you first racing night enjoyable try just watching the first night. Know where the closest gas station is, find the water & air, note how the staging lanes are run, talk to people about the return road
But if you're 12.000 and slower, long pants and helmet is what most tracks require

Make sure your battery holddown is good. Most tech guys will check that. Lug nuts tight, seat belts work, neutral safety switch, at least one light if dark, catch cans, no drips, ...
