25.3 Camaro Build
Well the car has been at Keeler Motorsports in Winchester, VA for quite some time now and I figured that it was time for me to go ahead and put some pics of the progress up. Anyone who has ever taken a car to a chassis shop to get work done knows how fast things can snowball out of control and this car has been to exception. Upon dropping the car off the list of things to be done was, 10 point cage, minitubs, parachute mount and mounting the fuel cell and battery in the front end. What I have going on now is a far bigger project that anticipated. I will be running ultra/ultimate 275 this year with the same 408 that I bought from JL a couple years ago. Upon completion of the chassis the motor will be built to be nitrous friendly as it now is set up to run n/a. As it sits now i would guess that the chassis is at about 90% completion (assuming I don't change anything else). Anyway I don't necessarily have any pics from the very beginning but I will share what I do have and update with new pics as they come in.
We started cutting up the back and working are way forward so this will be where I will start:
Instead of removing floor pans we drilled 6 holes through the floor and started on the bottom. In this pic you can see where the cage is attached to the floor structure and just needs picked up and burned in.
Then there is a large gap in the pics as I believe I either accidently erased or never uploaded them but at any rate:
I decided to sell the moser 9" and picked up a narrowed S60 from a buddy of mine. Also added a Jerry Bickel anti roll seen in this pics.
The back will be entirely flat and the old ttop area will have dzus fasteners so that i can remove the rear panel as this is where the battery is now mounted. An air pan will be made under the car to tie in the rear bumper and close off the open area where the fuel tank used to be.

Then the chute mount was finished and a spring launcher chute was added:
The next set of pics are just showing the cage work.
Now I am aware of the fact that these tires can not be used in ultra but I have had them sitting here forever and I wanted to get the wheels mocked up and the ride height figured out so that why the are on there. Wheels are made by champion 15x10 with 6" back space.
Here the cage is done and I just think its an awesome pic so , yea
A few shots of the coil over conversion on the rear:

Here is how the car sat before we started on the front end:
Now on to the front end which was a ton of cutting to get these headers to fit which were bought from the same friend as the rear. They were build by AutoFab out of MD and consist of 2" stepped to 2 1/8" primaries dumoed into a 4 1/2" collector and topped of with a pair of burns mufflers.
Next up we converted my Spohn torque arm over to a slider similar to the madman arm and welded up a 4 link bracket into the x in the floor to mount it.
This about all I have for now but stay tuned and I will update as time goes by. Thanks for checking it out.

Looks great! What's the advantage of the fender exit headers on a nitrous car vs a traditional style header? Is it just a ground clearance/wheel stand issue?

Your best bet will be to call around several places and talk with some people at the track too see how their cars are and where they recommend. I know Chris Achors is in your area maybe give him a call.
