Stock A4 launching question.
I have a 2000 Z28 A4 with some boltons and a tune.
My tuner changed the way the trans shifts, but other than that, it's stock for now.
Last time I was at the track, I noticed that I would get faster ET's without revving up too high and holding on the line, and just launching from like 1500 rpm.
My slowest pass was when I launched at around 2500ish.
What are your experiences with launching on stock and upgraded converters?
How do you guys launch and at what RPM?
Just curious.

Thanks guys.
Yea, when I kinda flashed it from 1400-1500, I got my best run of the night at 13.2, and when I tried from the mid 2000's, my time was 13.8, on cheap street tires.
I know my ****'s slow, but a cam and stall are in the works.

If your tuning is correct, to enhance off-idle torque (won't find this on the dyno) it will likely run fastest leaving from an idle. Both my '98 WS6 convert, and the '95 Camaro test mule I had ran quickest stomping it from an idle.
Factory tuning has the timing backed way up down there for emissions. Depends on your tuning if it will like flashing it or not.

My car with a SLP lid, FTRA, LTs, OR Y and a hooker CB, 3.23s stock tune and street tires cut a 1.99 and ran 12.87@107.7 with preloaded the stock converter to that 900-1100.
Of idle it was usually a .10 slower and reaction times suffered. It hated being fully stalled up.

I am just adding my 2 cents but how you stage has just as much to do with how you leave the hole. Tire pressure, they way you burn out etc. To me that has just as much to do with how you launch and will make your 60ft times more consistent.. Its all about the car hooking up and finding that balance
