Default people running autometer tach's.....gotta question

i got a 5" autoguage tach by autometer, the the tach is 200 rpm off. the rev limiter is 6800 and going by the tach it come on at 6600. Im 100% positive its set at 6800. the guy at autometer say my ignition system is to weak for the tach at the high rpm's. i also heard the autoguage tachs arent as good as a regular autometer tach.

does anybody have problems with their autometer tach at high rpms? have you had to upgrade your ignition system?

i do have msd wires.

Did you set the tach to 4 cyl. mode? If its on 8 cyl, it will be off.

is it brand new? Mine is off and I'm sending it back for a check up and a recalibration...but mine is older.

I would check it with a scanner compaired to what the computer sees your rpms at. But you are right..autoguage isn't as good as auto meter from what I hear.
