Anyone break a stock LT1 steel drive shaft? (m6)
Hey guys,
I'm just finishing school (cash funds are low) and would like to finally get the track. I'm just ordering my slicks and want to see how long my stock driveshaft will last, if at all.
My set-up:
355rwhp & 340rwtq Lt1
m6 w/street twin
9-inch and 4.30's
26 inch slicks
hopefully 1.6 60 fts atleast
oh yeah, the DS has a 1350 joint on it as well
Will it last? How many runs do you figure? If there is a better way to launch it (rather than off the rev limiter ) how would you guys suggest? its a long tow home
thanks
Andy

does your year have aluminum as stock? i can't remember if its all years M6 that have aluminum or just LS1's.
if so and that's what you are worried about and are on a budget I'd recommend picking up a stock steel one from an auto car, they tend to be very strong for what they are.

Are those 6000k launches with an m6? Pardon my ignorance, I don't even know if autos can even launch like that. Mine is an m6 with a Street Twin clutch and sticky tires. I'm not putting out too much power, so I think that helps
