Default Drag Bar

At what point do you need to get rid of the stock rear sway bar and move to a drag bar or anti roll bar?

In for opinions! 6.47 (660') with a 1.43 60' with my stock sway bar. Not saying it's the fastest pass by any means, but I'd like to say I'm reaching that limit..

I would say when the car is twisting. Pullin the left front tire several inches and not launching straight, which is bad on the car and inconsistent.

Left front wheel lifts about 5 " and right wheel does not lift.

I would say then a drag bar is needed. Eric at Midwest chassis has a nice bar and light weight. Myself I cut 1.4x 60s with a manual trans and both wheels come up evenly. If I didn't have the bar it would probably look hilarious once that clutch gets dropped.

I was getting the same at high 1.5x. Installed the Midwest bar and started red lighting....the chassis reacts much quicker now. Chassis still twists a touch but the bar makes sure the suspension doesn't account for any of it.

I managed to get a 1.56 60' running a BMR xtreme anti roll bar. Feels pretty even to me, but I am pretty sure my cage stiffens the car up a lot.

I was running high 1.5s, low 1.6s and was picking up the left front about 1-2 inches but not the right. Got the MWC bar and it straightened it right up. Launches became much more consistent and predictable.

So you are happy with the BMR?

My only concern is the UMI bar is listed as a solid bar(weight) where as the BMR is hollow. I have all UMI suspension but I have seen BMR parts and they seem just as nice.

We have hundreds (maybe thousands) of 2245's out there with great results. The cost savings seems to offset the few extra pounds...

So that's it...? Car twist.. need a drag bar? How many have switched to the Wolfe or MWC ARB going from the UMI or BMR setup?

I don't like the stock style sways because they are heavier or as heavy. Why not loose weight while making your car work better??
