LS6 powered rear engine dragster build thread
Last winter I purchased a 207", SBC powered, rear engine dragster that had been sitting for a few years (last certified in 2005). After doing some clean up and updating on the SBC I decided on putting a very low mileage LS6 in it that I had sitting around (2,200 miles).
So here are the basic details on the car:
-207" hard tail chassis
-Powerglide transmission
-4.88 rear gear
-LS6 engine (stock bottom end)
Here is a picture of the car when I bought it

I just dropped the body off to have the vinyl wrap done on 12/8 and we also plan on finishing the chassis work over Christmas break so that we can send the chassis off to paint the first of the year.
More pics coming!

I plan on running 1/4 mile with it. We are figuring the car will weigh somewhere around 1500 lbs with me in it. Honestly the biggest limitation is that we are going to retain the stock short block and see how long it will hold up.

Gunna be cool. I have a build thread in forced induction on my ls2 turbocharged dragster. I got hosed on a 245" 4 link that needs back and front halved. I put it to the side and built a chassis jig and am in the process of building a new 272" slip joint chassis. Btw mine is not a stock short block but it has a new stock nod iron crank in it and I plan on going mid 6s with it. Cool that you got on LSX tv too.

I am trying like heck to have it done by summer. I have been accumulating parts for my old car for 4 years. I am ready to have it on the track. I am self employed, extremely busy, family man, and building our 65 el camino for my dad to drive as well. Needless to say I don't have a lot of time or money. I would like to beat the guy that built my old car. That set me back a good $12,000. I will eventually redo that chassis and put it up for sale, but that doesn't help me now. What did your wrap cost? I plan on making a mold to make one piece bodies for long cars. Nobody makes a body for cars over 245". If I can pull it off, I will start building chassis and bodies for sale.
