I'm not running anything at all. I had found a test either on here or on Yellowbullet and the filter killed like 20hp! running an elbow to a tube up to a lid with stock style filter killed 40hp! That changed my mind real fast.

Yeah, I'm not running one now either, but last TNT, my alternator belt shredded and some of it landed in my tb blades.
I have a 5" VFN hood now, so may put a cleaner on it and see.
But the cowl is so close to the back of the tb, I may have to put a 2" intake spacer on the intake to get the cleaner above the cowl.

I run a 7" k&n on mine. Wasn't willing to risk something getting into the engine. I have a extended Sunoco now and a turbo kit in the works. Will be switching to an extreme velocity carb hat for that.

I run a 9" air filter with flow through lid on top of the air bell.
K&N X-Stream Airflow Top Plates 66-0900R
K&N Universal Air Filters 28-4245
Quick Fuel 200-1 - Quick Fuel Carburetor Air Bells

It doesn't seem to have any affect on the performance of my car. On back to back run with air filter on and off the car run the same exact 114.90 mph

Thanks!
That would work without any spacers and not mess with the accelerator lever.

Thanks Rob,
Your's is the one I've been trying to research.
I have the quick fuel air bell, just need the filters and maybe a 2" intake spacer.
What did you have to do with the accelerator linkage lever? Didn't it hit the air bell?

I have a 1" spacer and and Stinger plate between the intake and throttle body. The linkage did hit the air bell, I trimmed a 1/4"-3/8" off the end of the accelerator linkage lever so it cleared the air bell.

Hey Rob, didn't you have like an 3" x 14" filter at one time?

I did, it was actually 14x2". I never made any dyno runs or track passes with that air filter setup, just some street driving. I was a 14x3" filter I cut down to 1 3/4-2" with 9/16" raise air cleaner base and 1 1/2" spacers between the air cleaner base and throttle body. I had to cut the filter down because hit the hood.

How close is the 9" filter from the top of the hood.
Thanks

It's real close within 1/8-1/4" of hitting the hood. I've considered having an 1/8"-1/4" shaved off the base of the bell to get a bit move room between the top of the lid and hood. But I need to see how much room I have between the throttle linkage and the bell at wot to see exactly how much the bell can be shortened. I decided not to do that right now, it's not causing me any problems yet.

Default Super Vic w/ 4150

I have a 4150 w/ the FAST 4150. My accelerator arm is hitting the bottom of the filter. I already shaved off quite a bit in the hope I would not have to run a air filter spacer. I think if I get a 1/2" riser I it should clear.

I am curious how everyone running this setup is liking their Speed Density tunes. I am curious b/c I will be doing the same. I have heard all kinds of stories on having to tune and retune quite often. Not sure if this is the regular MAF guys vs. Speed Density guys or what.
