Default Any mods needed to make a 28x10x15 Hoosier fit?

My 28" Hoosiers came in last week, along with some 15x10 Prostars. Does the fenders/wheelwell need to be modified for the tires to fit without rubbing?

Seems every car is a little different here, Jason... I think the T/A will be really close, though. You can probably get away with a little "ghetto" clearancing by drilling a small hole in the bumper, and using a wire tie to pull it back out of the way just a tad.

I cut out a section of my rear bumper and reshaped the opening a little on my car so I'll have no more issues. Now I wish I had done a little more so I could fit a 30" tire in the future if need be...

The easiest way to check your clearance would be to mount everything up and on the car, and put a jack under the rear and get the tires off the ground. Spin the motor up in high gear to let the tire grow, and have someone else watch and see if/where it rubs.

Here's a picture, if it helps... It's nowhere close to perfect, as I'm new at this paint and bodywork stuff, but I think it looks OK for a "first-timer." Excuse the filth on everything, too...

Jason- My 28x10x15's will be here next week too! I'm gonna mount them and put them on the car as is. I've heard some cars need a little fuding to make them fit and some cars don't. I'll post my findings here when I install them. Oh yeah, I heard an adj PHR bar helps too. I have the BMR on my car, maybe I'll have to adjust it a little?

George- Actually looks VERY good! The way that last picture looks is more like I'd prefer the fitment. I've seen some cars where you could barely fit a piece of paper between the tire and the rear bumper. Good job George!

I have the 28 X 10 Hoosier slicks mounted on 10" Weld draglites with 6.5" B/S. I have a 99 SS Camaro and I had to cut the wheel well in front of the tire and the rear. It seems my passinger side had less clearance than the drivers side before cutting. I don't know how but it did. The wheel well opening was smaller. After cutting I still rubbed on the passinger side in the front of the wheel well a tad and I cut again. You can't tell unless you look real close. I just mounted 28 X 12.5 M/T Sportsman Pros for street use and man are those tires huge. I had to cut again. I think I will be able to fit 29" tires now.
Good luck
Tom
