I bought Jakes stage 2 rebuild kit for the 80e. I ended up buying the billet input and billet direct hub which makes it a stage 3 setup once I finally turned it up

Comes down to your mechanical skills and attention to detail

On just the stage 2 setup I was 500whpish. 2600lb car was running 133mph

Boosted with the same stage 2 setup and billet input/billet hub im near 1100whp in a 2750lb car. Car has ran 167.6mph

You just have to make sure you follow the instructions and perform basic internal mods, very similar to a th400

Stock 80e with a shift kit will handle that with ease.

It's all about dual feeding the direct clutches. The shift kits do it with new gaskets and plates, pros and cons of both. Research it a bit. I prefer the internal way

The 80e mechanically is on the same page as a th400 and a lot of the parts swap, upgrade, same internal mods are followed

Lots of great threads on the net. Google dual feeding 4l80e
