Default YOu think you have bad track prep?? Read this craziness........

Well I decided to go down to Buffalo Valley and run. I usually go once a year then after I leave I say I'll never go back due to the prep and the fact that the track is up hill

Now for the times....drum roll - - - - - - -

Made 3 runs and the best was the first one......

7.81 with a 1.78 60ft.

Let me tell ya....this place SUCKS!!!!!

They didn't even have anyone out manning the tree. The lady up in the box would motion for you to go.

ZERO track prep. Not so much as anyone even with a broom....no one was out there much less any VHT.

I was spinning hard....I actually about took out a cone at the starting line once. All three runs were were close.....the other 2 were a 7.8x and a 7.90 and sixty afetr the first run were in the 1.8x range.

The third run is what made me call it quits...... I get up to do my burnout and there is no damn water in the box. My car starts hopping all over the place....I try it 3 times backing up trying to find water and there was none. Good god I thought the *** end of my car was gonna bounce over the guard rail. The burnout box wass stickier than the damn starting line.

My buddy nate went and we tried to atap his car but it was a no go cause it kept on throwing a code and was screwing up the logging. He has a 02 SS m6 with a few bolt ons and some hooker long tube header (which look awesome)

He was on radials and I really feel sorry for him. Think the best I seen him get was a mid 9 at like 76 mph or soemthing like that. His mph shows how the inclining track keills mph.

My mph was 85-87 which I dind't have a problem with since it was up hill and and most of the bolt on 5.0 stangs were lucky to break 70.

But all in all it was ok even though I am bitchin I am super proud how it ran considering the conditions and where I was racing at.

For comparison sake last year with basiclly the same 60ft time (around 1.8 flat) I ran 8.3 at 82 & 83 mph in about the same weather and the night before I had ran 8.0x's at 88 - 89 in Crossville.

LAst year 98 ta a4, 2.73, vig 2800, pullies, lid, cut out, nittos

This year
tp4400, 3.73, slp lt's, et streets, and the bolt ons listed above...and a weight of 3270 with me in the car

Installing heads/cam/intake either this weekend or the next but don't think I'll take it back here to test

Yep I can top that. 2 weeks ago our track brought in some cars from a race club in Minn -- some 7 and 8 second cars - after the 6th near miss at the guard rails the boss of the group told them to pack up they were going home. Ours is a 1/4 mile track, with a 100 shot, 60 degree weather, low humity I can only muster a 12.0. It feels like an ice-skating rink. It takes so much just to keep the car straight that it hard to hit shift points - for an M6 that is ****. Best so for is a 7.73 1/8 at 91+.

The problem is, this is the only track in a 200+ mile radius.

Good luck.

David
